Roughest pub clickbait

Dear Lord Wiz. That's the worst list of pubs for being rough I've ever seen.

The Gynn? PMSL. Linekers?! Most they name are just holiday maker pubs.

I'm an early 90's lad and the only place I saw real tasty violence was Down the Hatch down the side of the Claremont hotel. A lot of us youths used to make it a stop off on our way back to North Shore from town.

So many pubs are called rough or tasty when all that means is that they are decent working class boozers full of regulars. Never had any issues in the Dinmore myself, only a good laugh. Same with the Mere Park. Had a reputation but was a cracking place to have a drink.

Nice to see old photos but yeah just nonsense and clickbait.

I used the Belle Vue regularly before it was modernised and never saw a hint of trouble.

As Mac has pointed out in the season, most pubs and bars used by the visitors were susceptible to violence, and I include some of the Hotel Bars on the Prom, speaking from experience.

It was almost obligatory to call in at Down the Hatch back then if you lived in North Shore. Despite its roughness, it's still one of the favourite places we went too.

I lived the other side of town but we always ended up down the snatch as we called it as it was open late, relaxed (if any) dress code and much fewer tourists. Just had to keep your wits about you for when it kicked off.

Down the Hatch was great, don’t recall it being rough at all, it obviously kicked off occasionally but everywhere did back then. It was open way late, how did they get away with it? Superseded by the Galleon for late drinks.

Only Blackpool could have a survey of the roughest pubs and clubs over the years. Most places would want to forget them.

Not a mention of The Tache/You're Father's Moustache/Frenchys?
The writer mustn't have got out much (Stix was a good shout though)

Hmm, it was about 1986 when Delfino and his mates started frequenting that establishment, then it went downhill....
Used to go in DTH Fri/Sat on way to town, never had any trouble or saw any. Sometimes ventured into Hacketts back of the Landsdown hotel, that place was rougher. Before they opened it was the Darby Arms at Cocker Sq, looked rough in there but was on 16/17 at the time.
