Looks like he’s fecked off this mortal coil just in time to avoid the apocalypse

Thank goodness we still have his instructions on how to avoid the worst of things to come 👍

A wonderfully talented man.

The TV will be showing the Snowman again, but I much preferred "When the Wind Blows", and especially "Ethel and Ernest". Having bought both books when they came out, I was doubtful when the films were released, but they were brilliant too.

He was a proper cartoonist. A friend of ours who now lectures in animation worked with him, and said he paid incredible attention to detail, and taught him so much which put him in good stead for his career

When the Wind Blows is terrifying, right up there with Watership Down in the trauma inducing cartoon stakes. I don't think today's younger generation quite realise the constant existential threat we all endured. No wonder we all went mad in the 90s.

RIP.

I have a copy of that brilliant book somewhere in the ex-Mrs GT's house. Fantastic artist/cartoonist/writer
Let's not also forget the Snowman, including the Viz version which was definitely one of their best ever 😗
