RIP Keith Levene

Prompted me to listen to public image first issue and metal box. Levene's guitar with jah wobbles base playing off each other just a dream.
Someone described his sound as like diamonds , ground then fired through a machine gun.

Remember buying PIL first single and playing it to death! Levene’s guitar was so edgy it left you breathless. Metal Box will be literally rolled out tomorrow and played again in tribute to him.

Heard quite a lot of PIL over the last couple of days on 6. Brilliant stuff.

The metal box was round, silver and had PIL<inside, or am I imagining it?

If I'm not I can't think why I didn't buy it. Probably money I suppose.

Yeh it’s a Matt grey tin round box containing the 3 12 inch 45rpm discs, mines a bit tarnished after all these years! Its on YouTube give it a listen, Lydon’s voice at its menacing best and great guitar work from Levene.
