Question for the slap heads on here.

I'm guessing there's a lot of us on AVFTT. I've shaved my bonce for 30 years and always used Gillette blades for a wet shave, followed by a Braun Cruzer for the ultimate in smooth skin. Anyone ever tried a dedicated head shaver from the likes of Remington or Skullshaver?

Their reviews are mixed and I would like to know how good they are.

Buy yourself a Guinea pig and super glue. Don’t forget your nail scissors 🧑‍🦱👍

I’ve used a Skullshaver for a few years now and it does the job fine. Just make sure you hold them correctly (flat palm) because if you put too much weight on the blade mechanism it can knacker the motor.

Cheers for the reply. How close does it shave? How long do the blades last & are replacement blades easily obtainable.

Close enough for me, obviously it’ll never be as close as a wet shave but you can do it everyday if you wish as it only takes a few minutes. Blades are easy enough to get and you’re supposed to replace every three months, but I’ve never replaced mine in three years!

I've just bought a Remington one from Argos. It's excellent. As close as I could imagine to a razor shave, but with 99% less faff. Dead easy to clean/empty as well. Very pleased thus far.

It was about £60.

I'm fortunate that even at my age I've retained both a fine head of hair and my boyish good looks😏

There are decent wigs out there, I’ve had mine for 9 years now and nobody has ever noticed👍🏻, well if they have, they’ve never said 😯

I've got a pitbull gold Pro skull shaver. I had reservations before buying it, as I'd been a hard-core Mach 3 devotee.
Turns out that I had got it all wrong. I'm really impressed with it. Holds a charge well, and does a crackin' job on my lumpy cranium!

I love this thread.
Here's me, at 87, with a decent head of hair, OK receding a little at the front & crown, now, but still go to get my hair cut.
😃

I kept my hair but had a nightmare with my teeth. Looking back now I would have traded my barnet for my gnashers oooh the pain & trouble I’ve suffered.

That, my man, is a magnificent achievement 👍

I was told I was going bald at 16 and wouldn't have much in but my mid-20's - and they were right. At least I was prepared!

Cheers TSS.
Of course it's hereditary. My Dad had hair when he died in his 70s.
My older Bro also, but unfortunately he died in his early 60s, not naturally unfortunately.
Strangely, both my Grandsons, 40 y.o. and 38 y.o. are both short in the hair department.
Must be their Grandmothers side. 😉 (not MrsDP).
