Qatar World Cup Who’s Going What Games Staying Where??

Flying out to Muscat with Blackpool Rox for tour of Oman and meeting Seasideone and a couple of others.

Waiting for ticket confirmation on Iran ticket.

Got USA & Wales tix and England Conditional Final Ticket through England members.

But match day flight shuttles for group games from Muscat to Doha return and flights from Manchester to Muscat Return.

Booked into 5 Star Royal Tulip hotel in Muscat allegedly the third best in Muscat.

So with 4 return flights (incl 3 return match day return shuttle flights) and 11 nights accommodation in Muscat and 3 group game match Tix I’m up to £2050.

Feared worse to be honest, still a lot of money though.

What are other Blavkpool fans doing??

Was looking at combining the golf finals in dubai with World Cup and just picking tickets up for random matches

Looked at accommodation anywhere in Qatar and it was laughable

Accommodation in dubai is higher costs than usual although fly dubai are doing 20 flights a day to doha during World cup

It was getting too silly for me price wise so we will be off to Mexico instead I think

Let me know how you get on with the food?? 🤪 but I assume (rightly or wrongly?) beer will not be widely available?

To be fair, Ive had Pig cheeks (no not those cheeks) & they are VERY tasty... 🤣

Pig cheek is actually the most tender part of the pig apparently and is something I have all the time and it’s amazing.

Beer is not as widely available as the UK obviously, but it’s definitely legal, plus easily and readily available along with many other drinks 😎 👍

Definitely will not be eating pigs foreskins…perhaps sweetbreads….or imported lamb, oh and whatever you do don’t eat goat which is what they pass off as lamb🤢 which happened to us in India….a definite night I will never forget….love Southern Indian seafood food but anything up north is a disaster waiting to happen….and the same probably applies to Qatar.

I’ll be having a bit of goat as it’s really nice 👍

Sweet breads are interesting as I have had great ones and some pretty poor ones - you just never know until you try 👍

Although Sweet Breads is a very strange name for them!!!!

good luck with goat….a night where I was not sure which end the projectiles were going to come from and this was from the a la Carte menu in a very top notch hotel🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
anyway enjoy the World Cup but I have to say in my opinion not a place it should be held but it is what it is and of course I will want England to do well.

I Make goat curry and rice and peas regularly, it's fantastic.

When you cook things for yourself you know about ingredients and timing which helps….one reason we barely eat out these days as home cooking is the best😉 and in our case extremely varied😉
Last nights effort in the photo ( lon tong)30491981-C59F-41E1-B253-4257517ABF08.jpeg…today was sausage( proper ones for me,veggie for the better half)mash( potatoes and sweet potatoes),sprouts,cauliflower,leeks and peas combined,carrots and gravy…..we love our veg😉

For anyone interested in price all I have booked is still available travel wise:

Pegasus airlines Manchester to Muscat Return 90 min internal same airline transfer in Turkey) £220 it cost me £350 with case,extra leg room seat, sandwich on all four flights & in-flight entertainment)

3) Golden Tulip Hotel £600 for (12 nights) we got the Royal Tuat same price but now gone up to £120 per night.

I have some spare CANCELLABLE rooms booked in Golden Tulip that I can transfer for £600 for 12 nights.

Match tickets Cat 2’s £150 per game. (Cat 3’s are cheaper)

With Exception of Match tickets ALL this is still available👍🧡

We`re going out via Warsaw 16/11 and on to Doha next day......back via Cairo after group games.
England tix guaranteed.
Miss last 16
Back for quarters onwards if we qualify.
Out to Dubai in between group games.
No Doha accomm yet

FlyDubai are operating the match day shuttle service, so if you get to Dubai after the first game (or change your other flights to go to Dubai first) you should be able to use the shuttle service.

30 match ticket only fights a day from Dubai priced at circa £200 a seat.

Muscat has the same and also on sale now through Qatar airways (24 a day) but you need a link which if anyone needs I will post.

You can add your match ticket and Hayya card details later.
 
The Golden Tulip, better known as the Golden Toilet when I was living in Muscat.

I do hope they have changed the carpet.......
 
I live in Dubai so I am doing a day trip for the first game. Back in for the second game and staying until after the final group game. Then in and out for the knockouts. I have booked sporadic nights in the USD 84 a night accommodation in Doha so we can kip there when we need to.

There will be plenty of beer, the weather will be perfect and hopefully a good showing by England!

He doesn’t half talk crap.

He is the only man in history to change a hotel from the main group to protect his liver - where the hotel we are in doesn’t have a bar - to a hotel that DOES have a bar.
