Since world cups began the host side generally gets favourable decisions. Case and point englands 3rd in the final against Germany. Having said that its always been marginal decisions rather than out and out cheating. What makes it more remarkable is theres now VAR so you cant even blame human error.

The tone of corruption had already been set before this game. What on earth can anyone say to justify that goal being disallowed with the benefit of hindsight!
