So that’s it, the 23/24 season is over for us. Time to plan ahead for 24/25. I’m sure plans for pre season are being discussed. Anyone got any news, heard any rumours or just who do we want to come to BR and where we fancy going? I know it’s hard to get excited about the season ahead right now😉
 
There's always Southport away end of June.

This year I'd hope for 2 games in 3 days somewhere for a short break / weekend away.
Maybe a Friday and Sunday games in Scotland.
Hibs and Hearts possibly. Or maybe a quickfire double over the east coast direction? any two from Sunderland /Middlesbrough/ Hull City /maybe Norwich away, or for the Yorkshire lads how about an away double at Bradford and Massive?

I wonder if they will still go ahead with the Southport one given what happened last year?

I think Eastbourne are up for a friendly at their place but we stopped taking their calls apparently 🤣

Cowdenbeath's ground is a shite hole. Basically has a football pitch in the middle of a stock car track. 🚗
In that area we'd be better off at Dunfermline. A better standard of football as well.

I wonder who our "big" home friendly will be against?
Maybe Critchley can bring Aston Villa to Bloomers?

I doubt he has any sway with ‘Villa.
An IOM tournament with some other EFL clubs and IOMs local team would be a good shout.
 
A few of the big German clubs may well be doing pre-season tours elsewhere in Europe whilst their stadiums and facilities are used during and then given chance to recover after the Euros.

I’d quite like Hamburg, Hertha Berlin, Schalke, Dortmund or Bayern at Bloomfield Road!

With the work taking place at SG I can foresee a tour somewhere for our lot early on in pre-season just to give the pitches an extra week or so. Usually earlier tours are more fitness oriented though, so little chance of a glamour friendly in the sun imo.
 
Should switch things up and play a couple in Spain. Our past pre-seasons don’t seem to have served any purpose. Critchley still no clue what his best team is.
 
Couple of games in Benidorm area. They have just won their league & go into the 3rd level, regionalised. Preston played ere last pre season & had a few hundred fans in Benidorm for it

Did the north east non league when Billy Ayre was manager. Fantastic for me. I fancy a few Scottish clubs away. Went to Ayr about 1984.
