Should be completely fucked off the whole thing is madness being told what to do

Celtic fans (who I dont really have any time for) been banned for having Palestine flags, now you may find this surprising but i think it wrong the club are banning up to 3,000 fans

Let's not forget the history of this club and why it was formed

It wasn't long ago that Premier league clubs in England and Scotland as well as EPL clubs were told by the football authorities that they HAD to support BLM with shirt badges and hoarding advertisements at grounds

BLM for fucks sake who anybody with half a brain cell knew what this bunch were about

Then the taking of the knee, not allowed to boo it, laughable really when you think of it

Then the Ukrainian flags being paraded before games at the National stadiums of both England and Scotland as well as at live game on SKY

BBC having a proper bitch before the World Cup about human rights and Gay rights in Arab countries

We have also had Spurs fans being told not to sing the Yids chant (even though it's about them)

Even at Blackpool with our lot not allowed to sing about Gay bars even though we have one of the largest Gay community's in the country

It's like certain political statements are allowed and some aren't, who the fuck decides all this?

This site is just the same with posts being deleted because some fucker doesn't agree with a certain view point

Either it's a free for all and all views matter or not

Who decides?

Worlds gone mad ..........

Reported post.

Agree, it’s a strange world. A Palestine flag doesn’t mean you support the butchering of Jews by Hamas, but just maybe you’re pointing out you’re supporting the way the innocent are being slaughtered in retribution. How a club can ban fans for that, it’s ridiculous.

Yep not much wrong with that. Who are these thought police who decide that football supports Ukraine but not Palestine?
And the BLM knee taking nonsense was the clumsiest piece of virtue signalling I’ve ever seen.
And let’s not get started on Kane wearing/not wearing his rainbow armband, and having to pretend he actually cared.
It’s probably not possible to keep politics out of sport, so if we accept that then you have to accept there’ll be thousands of political views. Not all of them to everyone’s taste.

Well let’s hope the replies aren’t as sweary

You can be political if it fits the narrative created by the media from the powers that be. You can then be correctly labelled as nice or horrible according to this label.

The PL actually had BlackLivesMatter on the back of players shirts instead of their own names, it is actually laughable. Hundreds of thousands went on BLM marches at the same time everybody was told to stay at home to stop the worlds most deadliest virus- it must have swerved protests and had the day off whilst avoiding someone eating on public transport or following the arrows in big Tesco.

If you didn’t want a vaccine you’re a selfish granny killer who doesn’t care about people but if you do you’re a hero. Then even if you do have a jab you can still catch it and pass it on so you might still kill a granny but you’re not a selfish granny killer and you can’t talk about the side effects or the fact the AZ vaccine got removed because it’s unsafe, nope you just have to try and forget that Wimbledon centre court gave its creator a standing ovation before it was removed from use.

Zinchenko was a hero and so brave for playing football and for crying and supporting his country but as a footballer if you tweet ‘free Palestine’ you’re in the shit. War is allowed and the killing of innocent people if it’s the side doing it you agree with.

Lots of clubs are banning national flags now but only certain ones that they deem is ok.

Covid to Ukraine to Climate to Israel and people play along 🤮 Ukraine flags they’ve had in their profiles on social media will be gone soon. Like Christmas decorations. Matt Scrafton had one for months but got the Burnley gig and removed it. “Free Ukraine” when it fits where you work 💪🏽

What a mad world. All controlled by a media narrative. How’s that petrol crisis a couple of years ago due to Brexit and there not being any tanker drivers… ahhh yeh it lasted 4-5 days. Must have found them again.

Good on Lineker - he mixes football and politics but he usually calls it right - GB news apoplectic, obviously;
Yes well said Lineker.
It’s rather ironic Braverman saying this, when her main goal in life appears to be to stoke up hatred amongst the gullible and uneducated.

The whole thread is about politics in football and Lineker is one of the worst for it

Who can forget its hypocrisy during the World Cup and the 20 minute diatribe before a ball was kicked
His comments about politics are separate from football. In his free time. Maybe you should stick to your day job instead of bothering us with politics on a football forum?

Perhaps then if we’re talking no politics in football, then no player or kit should have anything remotely to do with politics on display.
Maybe that includes a poppy symbol. Just a football kit with a sponsor, no mention of anything that isn’t football related.

Also add to that players not going into communities to do work or supporting causes close to their hearts. Just stick to kicking a ball. 👍

I’m confused?

Football fans should be free to make political statements with their flags ?

And Gary Linekar should stick to football and not talk about anything political ?

Is that right?

Something like that 😁

Maybe It’s just because I’m a middle aged man, but no amount of kneeling or displaying armbands by footballers at matches remotely changes my outlook on race, equality etc and I’m pretty sure the plebs that are racist etc don’t change because of it either.

I'm saying it should probably all be fcuked off or we end up with a load of confused messages

Who decides what's ok and what isn't?

It's all bollocks
It’s difficult, because in football, like in the outside world in general, different people have different views.

Right now, we are seeing different standards (and I mean drastically different standards) being applied to so called “Freedom of Speech” depending on the political leanings of the organisation which is calling the shots.

For example… Our Universities tend to be run by Marxists, so you can spout anti-Semitic bial on campus, but you couldn’t claim that men can’t have babies.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I wouldn’t ban freedom of speech (obviously) or freedom of expression. So if any individual or group wanted to make a peaceful political statement (raise a flag at a football game for example) then I’m fine with that, I think.

However, I also think that Businesses, Football Clubs, Universities and any large organisations that may have employees, customers or students etc..(with a range of political views) shouldn’t take a clear political stance (or at least not on controversial topics).

The Israel / Palestine issue is a complicated one and there is right and wrong on both sides. It’s a contentious issue and it’s an issue that any organisation ought to have the common sense to steer clear of.

I think we can probably pick our way through these things by using a bit of common sense really.
