Owen Moffat being reported on a permanent deal from Celtic

Reports here suggesting Blackpool are in talks with Celtic over a PERMANENT deal for Owen Moffat. Moffat is one of the most highly rated prospects at Celtic Park, a permanent deal would be a real coup. (Sean McGinlay)

If this comes off it will mean Bowler will be off

Moffat 2 first team appearances for Celtic.5 ft 8 ins tall winger. Looks like a young Mick Hucknall in some of his photos.

Must admit I had never heard of him before , but just messaged a Celtic supporting mate who was a bit surprised it might be a permanent deal as he is quite well thought of . He has scored quite a few crackers for their B team 👍

Fits the type of player we need to focus on signing permanently. If we aren't up to the stage where we can attract league 1 players and someone in his last year at Rotherham. I have no issues with that but at some point we will also need to replace Keogh's experience, IMO.

To be honest, Bowler is going anyway isn't he? I think most fans would be surprised if he stayed. I still have a feeling that Bowler's replacement will be Scully from Lincoln - the lad from Celtic may well have a squad place but will need careful management like most young players.

He has been likened by some Celtic supporters as the next Jimmy Johnstone. For us older ones who remember Johnstone from the 70’s, he was a terrific player. Small in physique but fast, tricky and exciting to watch. To be compared to Johnstone is quite some accolade. For those interested, there are some great video clips of Johnstone in action when you search him. Let’s hope this one comes off.

Massive step up in standard from playing for Celtic B to Championship football. I’m sure the lad is a talented prospect but if he is a Bowler replacement, those will be massive boots to fill for a young lad with next to no first team experience.

never heard of him but hope it comes off. Once again another rumour to get our hopes up, so I'll wait and see.

I hope he doesn’t drink like Johnstone.
