Owen Dale to Oxford?

For me he’s been key in two of our best performances of the season … Barnsley and Pompey away. Can cover the left back or in the inside forward-type position Dembele and Joseph have been taking up lately.
He's not as good defensively at left back as Hamilton on the other side, which is saying something, and as you say, he's not going to push out Dembele and Joseph.

He's had a good attitude this season and he deserves a good deal and a chance to play in his best position. He's a nearly/not quite player though, for me, tidy, but low impact. Very occasionally moments of brilliance. Not enough. He isn't a good enough wing back and he isn't a good enough winger, I think, for us. Nearly. Not quite. I was quite surprised we paid what we did for him after his loan spell. He hadn't looked anything like ready for Championship football. It seemed like we were struggling to sign anybody else.

I still think we should have used Apter this end of the season. I can only assume he insisted on a return to Tranny when the new contract was under discussion.

There are very few players in this squad of I think is quite a talented squad, that critch is getting the best out of.
Daie showing promise as a wing back, getting into decent form scores a few goals and a few assists- dropped
Carey getting into some form - dropped
Marv similar, Kenny similar, dembele seems to have had his feathers cut a bit, Lyons can hardly get a look in, weird selections in the back three, with Connolly favoured over Marv and Casey and Pennington.
Carey has been absolutely pants all season. Marv couldn't pass the ball 5 yards for about 10 weeks and Pennington has been in and out the side with injuries.

Dale has been bang average since he signed for us, and he proved exactly the same at Pompey. It's funny how when a player leaves he's always suddenly the answer to our problems.

Only Dougall gone that weakens us. Coulson in. I think if Byers arrives we will have a slightly stronger starting XI.

Weve lost Kenny, Dale, Thompson, Tharme and Oak-Booth.

We've also had players return to fitness like Gabrel and joseph in recent weeks. Kouassi and Lavery too. Virtue. I would have kept Apter but otherwise we are in decent shape I think. Juggling a load of fringe players like Dale, Thompson TOB and Tharme just makes life messy.

And I still think we would be much tighter and therefore higher up the table if we played with 2 CBs. The gaps are too big. Maybe Gabriel and Coulson will enable the three to get tighter.

He’s not exactly a player who’s going to go into a team and influence it enough to make much of a difference tbh and I don’t mean that in a bad way he was the same here and at Pompey.
