Never even entered my mind but yes definitely the point still stands that that is a very, very good defensive unit. Better than what we had at this level last time.

Would like to think one of Tharme or Casey will be viewed by NC as decent cover to Marv & Pennington?

If Norburn joins this week then both our defence and midfield are shaping up nicely. Just to sort out the forwards then. Of course that does nor take account if important players leaving or some of the new signings not performing

Lyons is just a rumour at this stage.

However he’s under contract and he’s a rare goal scoring fullback who is young and can play various positions too.

So if it is that he moves on, once again it will be at a premium as he’s contracted. SS would want £2m I am guessing?

I’d want a minimum of that. No need to sell, unless Lyon’s wants off which doesn’t seem like his characteristic.

If we want to get out of league one then we need to keep hold of our best players. It would be frustrating to sign the likes of Pennington to sell Lyons. Especially if we miss out on ON and sell Yates.

Husband would do a job but in a 4-3-3, I’d prefer an attacking left back so that would be either Thompson or Reece James for me.

Nothing is better than seeing wingers attack full backs. Play 5-3-2 and we lose that. The only good thing about it is that allows for 2 strikers but even then not a fan.

Mitchell and Nottingham were utter tosh!
Again, a bit like last season, and I'll make allowances for the managers in this regard, all about staying fit and avoiding the injury table. Manage that and that is a decent defence.
