Only ourselves to blame

Totally dominant 1st half and should have been a few ahead, playing some good football.

Rhodes isn't in any sort of form but FFS, it was an open net, that was bloody awful.

Hit the bar hit the post. A few other good chances amd then to give the ball away and be caught out by a deflection. Not sure if he knew much about it but Ekpiteta does have it in him where he can't always get his feet sorted. Not sure if that was the case or not.

But we really should have won that game, then after conceding we had a typical Blackpool finish, shaky rather then going on to win the game with plenty of time.

Too many long balls 2nd half for me and not enough control and belief in us to go on and win the game after a setback.

We blew a big chance to gain some ground today for me. Charlton wer very fortunate to get anything but we should have put the ball in the net.

Chatting to a couple
Of Charlton lads and they said they couldn’t believe they got anything out of that ! Half time should have been 2/3 up - game over . Definitely feels like a loss for us and a win for them - but we go again vs Stevenage

Pool were unlucky today. It just wasn’t our day sadly. I’m not sure we can single any one player out. Sometimes it goes, sometimes it doesn’t. Certainly should’ve been 2 or 3 by HT but Charlton had Lady Luck on their side on this occasion. A decent performance, albeit a tired finish.

Much better to watch now though. Keep going lads 💪🏼

Absolutely we could’ve been more clinical but could bounce of the ball been any worse for us all day - not least with the worst goal May has ever scored

Agree, it’s just rinse and repeat.

Still. Gained a point on Barnsley and OU, a win at The Nage and it will have been a tidy little run. As long as we win that is.

I'd worry like hell if we did go up though.

Yeah, but should have won and really put pressure on those above.

It would be ok maybe if we'd gained the points already and sat pretty above others, but we haven't and need to catch teams, some still with games in hand.

Just disappointing to not win that game and really build some momentum.

Being a drama queen, feeling the beat from the tangerine, Oh Yeah. Charlton away cost us more than today.

You get knock backs, you don't invite setbacks. As has been our want.

Should have won at theirs as well, we just don’t seem to want to kill teams off for some reason

Mosser, it certainly wasn’t a case of NOT wanting to kill a team off today mate It was a case of couldn’t do.
We’ve been on the receiving end of potential drubbings and scraped through against all odds.
It’s what football is all about.

The blame rests with the management & to a bigger extent the recruitment team.
This team has been crying out for an experienced, calm head on the pitch since Keogh left. Norburn / Marvin & Husband are not captain material, too quiet.
Critchley’s continual persistence of playing attacking players in defensive roles highlights this. Hamilton defending is like a lost sheep. I would hazard a decent guess that a lot of our goals conceded (particularly recently) have come down our right side. Not overly blaming Hamilton but he continually doesn’t know who to mark / pick up. He needs to be told who to pick up - & in yesterday’s goal scenario to show the attacker the outside.

'He needs to be told who to pick up ...' No - he doesn't. He needs to be manacled to him ...

Thought we wouldn't win after half time even though they were there for the taking including a useless keeper .How many times do you see a team so dominant not win when they don't take their chances like that ?it always happens at all levels sometimes you know it's not going to be your day it must be something psychological happens

That’s the problem..we are under performing and by some way
Not sure we are currently under performing.
I thought the performance was very good and we lacked a bit of luck at both ends of the pitch. We should not be worried playing any teams above us even though we will not catch most. Still playoffs are realistic and a Wembley trip possible, so not sure where all your negativity comes from.

We should be higher than 8th and the fact we are not and still not strengthening speaks volumes…you maybe happy with finishing outside the play offs but to me that will be a failed opportunity in a league lacking strength in depth

I very much doubt CJ was tasked with marking / dealing with Alfie May.
