Olympics - Laura Kenny

Sensational performances from both Laura Kenny and Katie Archibald , wiped the floor with the opposition.
 
Kenny is tops but Archibald is the powerhouse. I've tipped her for greatness ever since I saw her ride at the Scottish track championships at the Chris Hot velodrome in 2013.
 
Fantastic achievement, but i am getting bored with the over-use of the word 'historic'. It's becoming hysteric!

I'm just having a historic cup of tea. Decided to go without sugar.
 
She's really likable and what a cyclist. In 2016 she was peerless and imperious on the track, then when Jason was riding she was all over the place. As other said above, Archibald brilliant and also completely unassuming and humble. Great athletes both.

I wonder if she gets as irritated as I do that they keep mentioning that she is GBs JOINT best female medal winner at the Olympics.

For a start 5 Golds and a Silver trumps 3 gold, one silver and two bronzes.

Also for me the other "record holder" Charlotte Dujardin has her medals for Horse Dancing.

It seems to me that Laura's achievement is much harder. I mean, it's not like Charlotte Dujardin even has to pedal her horse

OK, let's ask...given all your criticism of these people, how many Olympic gold's do you have? Or, how many medals, or how many Olympics have you attended?

I'm afraid i let myself down there answering a facetious question with a facetious reply.
However, i wasn't comparing my Olympic achievements (which I'm sure you have guessed are non existent) with Charlotte Dujardin's. I was comparing her achievements with Laura Kenny's.
It's only my personal opinion but I happen to think Laura's achievements outshine Charlotte's.
Happy for you to disagree, although if you don't have a stack of Olympic medals.....

And I posted what I did because I don't think it's fair to compare these things. What Dujardin had done is show that she is better at doing what she does than other people who do the same thing.
 
You can't really compare the two and no disrespect to the talented Charlotte of the Garden, but seeing as 3 billion people ride bikes and a handful do the dancy horses thing, I'd say it's a bigger achievement to be Olympic cycling champion.
