Just watching O’sullivan against McGill on Eurosport.

Ridiculous talent, outside of the snooker world he doesn’t get anywhere near the recognition he deserves.

Bloody genius👏👏👏👏

Crazy how he's never been considered for sports personality of the year when the likes of Zara Phillips has won it

For pure entertainment Eddie Charlton was the one for me and you could get so much done between shots!
Weird player to watch, just hit the ball with bugger all on it every single shot except a bit of screw now and again. I think his 10-9 first round win over Thorburn in the late 80s was the latest ever finish.

Was still playing in the main draw at the Crucible in his 60s mind and always seemed liked a nice fella.

Strange sport. I love playing, but when you play in a backroom in a seedy pub you're not playing with laser straight cues and on a velvet mat. Could some of these players play on a table that is basically a golf course?

Yeah, they all grew up playing on them, club pockets are a lot more forgiving anyway apparently.

He's a great player but a strange bloke.

He often gets knocked out of these tournaments looking like he doesn't give a shit then goes straight to studio punditry where he's a font of knowledge and enthusiasm about other players and seemingly loving the TV work.

Very hard to work out where he's at.

6-4 O’sullivan wins, respect but not much warmth between the two at the end of the match😂

I had a 55 break this week practising in a snooker hall which definitely had larger pockets than my normal club which has tight pockets (re-done a few months ago by the same company that does the Crucible tables).

I think it makes good business sense for snooker halls to have large pockets as snooker is hard enough for the average player. They will want people to enjoy the game so they become repeat customers, not piss them off making it too hard.

Having said that, there's a video on YouTube of O'Sullivan playing Stephen Hendry on his home practise table where he says he's about to replace it as the pockets are too tight. You also sometimes see pots on TV go along the cushion after clearly touch the side rail a foot or more from the pocket and they still go in which doesn't seem to happen on my club's tables.

Pockets could be an inch bigger than normal and I still wouldn’t knock in a 55, every credit👏

55 is my highest break in a match. 10 reds with no blacks or pinks.

Totally agree and not intended to be critical. He is who he is, but I still say that with the talent he has he could/should have won more
Still winning world titles at 46 when both Davis and Hendry we're long past it is a different type of mental strength and pretty rare to be fair. I think it's easy to forget being a top snooker player requires serious motivation and as much hard work as talent, and few can maintain that.

That’s a good effort no9.
I’ve played most of my life and still do at 69. Highest break ever is 56 but never been anywhere near that since.
I play in a league in Bolton and whilst a lot of players are average at best there are some excellent players.
I played a lad a few years ago who got a 127 break, just awesome to watch.
This week I played a 16 year old who whooped my ass. He never missed a pot and has a lot of potential.
