Stick a confidentiality clause in to the job application, interviews done away from the club and there was never any need for the speculation.
Ironic someone recently said that we weren't a leaky club anymore.
 
We don't know whats true but there's certainly some info out there... whether true or not... not been the best look.

I put it down to all the ITK people on here we must be up to 50 now.

Some utter tripe written on here the last couple of weeks by people who have inside information but can never reveal their source. 🤣

So maybe Appleton has impressed, if it is him, but if we do choose him no matter how impressive he was, would this be a fundamental out of touch move from the club? Or a we know best?

I'll support whoever it is but its clear he wasn't going to be popular at all.

Why would the club do that?

It would be the opposite of what many of us said. Like get an Evatt type in who would sell ST just on excitement, nostalgia and also the football he plays.

We still don't know whats happening but if the club do make what people perceive as a poor choice, what does that say about them?

Well we don't know whats going on, whether ita a farce or media rumours etc.

But its turing into a saga.

Personally I'm not blown away by Appleton but I'm not going mad.

But its clear when so many are against it, if we were to appoint that unpopular person...

Well we couldn't then say its a club thats in touch with the fans could we?

But then again, he could smash it and win loads of games and suddenly its the right choice.

But for me if I'm in charge you choose someone who will galvanise the fanbase.

I'll reserve judgement but it could be your farce call is shared by many....
 
It was like this last time, appeared to be a shambles and then Critchley was announced.

Maybe they leak fake info? Like Coleen Rooney. Just to feed the monster and see who spreads it.

It doesn't really matter, it's just the appointment that matters. And the look I'd likely caused to a large extent by people making stuff up, guessing etc. The club can't control everything. These people aren't amateurs.

Yeah but sometimes you can shut down nonsense that paints the club in a certain way.

Maybe the lack of info means more random stuff inserted.

Not the clubs fault.

Let's hope Mansford sticks to his word and gets this right.

He said someone who gets the town, the fans, therefore the fans must get him surely.....
 
I think the point about leaking fake news maybe not too far from the truth. Their way of having a little fun as they get through the proper business 😂
