Not a good look

Pointing out someone has been blocked, but not themselves I assume?

Completely depends on the nature of the posts/comments I'd assume. Needs some context adding to it at least
I don't really interact on twitter that much so it's not me that's been blocked. I've been through his comments and I can't find anything on there going all the way back to October of him saying anything too out there. The worst thing he's said about the club is that he thinks Critchley is a snake. I did check to make sure he hadn't threatened anyone one or made any extreme posts, but I can't find a thing and he's only been blocked recently.

Depends what he's said surely. Some people think they say whatever they like on Social media with impunity. I don't agree with that.
That's the thing, I checked to see what he had said and all I can find is him saying that Critchley is a snake. That's it, if it had been threats or something extreme I would understand but there's nothing like that I can find anywhere.

Sorry.

I mean in the post, they say "Because he has an opinion on our current manager", so I'd assume its on behalf of someone else. The tweet is tagging the club so assume they wouldn't be the one blocked

Just seen on Twatter that the club have started blocking fans. This just isn't a good look for the club, every fan is entitled to their opinion. I can't even find anything he's said that is beyond what the average poster on here says.

Critchley has said he can take criticism.

People who dislike Critch bought season tickets, rather than threaten boycotts.

Now some among mugs call him names.

Terrible food - with the portions too small.

Away league form, poor selections and tactics justify my anti-Critch stance.

But Pool should only ban fans - at the ground and on Twitter - for violent threats.

So who have they actually blocked? Because my understanding is you can't tag accounts that have blocked you, unless I'm mistaken?

If that's the case, we don't know who they actually banned yet, or what the reason is.

You can tag people who have blocked you, they just don't see it. It's Carver that has been banned.

Critch is routinely criticised on social media so it's weird that one person has been singled out unless it's cumulative, or related to other things.
I'm beginning to wonder if something has happened away from social media as its odd they've singled him out when I've seen alot worse said about Critchley and the club in general by other fans.

I will say that if the club are going to start blocking people, cmtheu can start with thies stupid gambling tipsters and fake streams that show up under every single tweet that Blackpool Post. They're beyond annoying.
Probably a full time job. Remove/block one and you'll get many more bots posting that can be dealt with. Platforms need to provide tools to make it easier.

Ah ok, always thought it was disabled.
Still, not going to go after the club without knowing the ins and outs, might be a mistake, could be something outside of socials or DM's....
Wouldn't be protesting just yet.

I'm hoping it's a mistake or a glitch, twatter is messing up alot since Musk took over. I've had to follow some accounts multiple times as it keep unfollowing them randomly. Needs rectifying quickly though.

A simple explanation wouldn’t go amiss. I agree with many on here, we don’t need to be told everything, but. A simple ‘blocked for extremely offensive comments’ or whatever would at least give a simple reason and hopefully put an end to speculation. Which isn’t in the least helpful to anyone.

I suppose some of this stuff could look Islamophobic/racist. None of it related to the club though.

The posts would be considered close to the knuckle in some quarters.

The club can choose to try and dissociate with someone following them; not saying I agree or disagree, but that's what I suspect is happening.

A website has blocked someone, presumably for good reason.

Why do you need an explanation?

Don't know the person, clearly they've been blocked for more than just criticism - the club has every right to block anyone they see as not being fit to post on the club page. Just as they can ban dickheads from the ground if they cause issues.
It's Twitter, who cares, it's a cesspit anyway
I'm sure they can attend matches as they wish in the real world. It just seems another stick to beat the club with at the moment.

I'm never one to say that we need an explanation, but in this case a simple he was blocked as he didn't meet the clubs standards regarding whatever, would stop all the talk. I've already seen comparison to past owners with this. This could just get bigger and bigger and cause the club a massive headache going forward.

This is 100% being brought up in fan meetings. I'm surprised the Muckers aren't all over it already.

You're standing proudly on top of a molehill and insisting it's a mountain.

- The blocked person could have posted and then deleted the posts.
- It could have been DMs to the club, or staff, or someone else associated with the club.
- It could have been based on an in-person interaction.

The club don't owe everyone a public inquest into every action they take. Move on.

We will see what happens, all I'm saying is that I can see this being another headache for the club. Like someone else has said on here, once the Muckers get hold of this it will be brought up in fan meetings.

Trial by social media on here, club found guilty of being terrible to supporters and another reason to slate Critchley and Sadler without knowing the full facts. Can you imagine if the club had to explain every single action and decision to supporters?

You do wonder why supposed grown men are getting all upset over this, it's a block on Twitter, Christ.

You’re wasting your time trying to talk sense to him , he’s a complete knob. I have just put him on my ignore list.

Well, they'll look pretty pathetic if they have any issue with the club blocking someone on Twitter, for what is almost certainly a good reason.

Depends entirely on what was said. I can't imagine the club blocked the account for sh1ts and giggles so clearly there was something inappropriate.
That person has every right to tweet whatever he wants but the club have every right to block him too.

It doesn’t relate to the club, but they will not want to have any association with comments like that. Of course we can’t see comments that have been deleted, so we don’t know whether he’s been blocked for these or something else.

You're right; I am speculating as much as anyone else.

I think I looked more in response to the free speech post.

We don't have it in this country or anything close - and given the sensitivity around football and football clubs supposedly being the bastions of virtue, I could see why they might shy away from being followed by someone posting / reposting some of the things that account has.

Personally, I think posts/comments etc don't reflect on anything or anybody other than the person responsible for them. But I don't live under a PR microscope.

Agree 100% with your last para. I’ve always thought that if celebs responded to abuse by simply posting what you’ve said, the trolls would soon be shut down. They’d have nothing to hit out at and look stupid into the bargain.
