New Walking Football Booking Links

It would be an idea if some of us long standing Walking Footy types could demonstrate just how the game should be played and also emphasised the spirit in which it is played. I can assure you young guys you will enjoy the sessions immensely if the games are played as per rules..

We always played the game how it was meant, but there are 3 or 4 lads that come down who seem intent on playing at their pace, I’m not slating anyone , because they are all good lads, but a game advertised as walking football should be Walking Football.

👍

We have generally played to the rules to be fair however at various points we’ve had a group who were collectively happy to play a bit faster so we did
It wasn’t intended to exclude anyone and I agree with Tetley we should stick to the rules from here on in

Like others, I'd be struggling for the 4.30 but I'll come and have a watch of the 6pm next week. Where do you play?

Steve, the official 6pm game is at PlayFootball (used to be Vida) on Garstang Road but there’s no game next Monday because of the bank holiday. A few of the lads though are planning to play on the grass at Stanley Park still from 6 till 7.

Owing to Covid 19 rules, spectators are not permitted at either of the WF sessions, only those who have booked in to play should turn up...

After discussions and the agreement with key members of the walking football community, BFCCT has increased the number of participants on the Walking Football 35+, Monday 6pm session from 12 to 16 players to meet the current demand.

Please note that only 12 players are allowed to play on the pitch at any given time, so the rolling substitution rule will be enforced for numbers above 12.

This figure will be regularly monitored with the opportunity to increase the number of pitches in the future if numbers keep building to allow for the expansion of the group.

We understand that the 35+ session is a quicker paced game, however, we would like to address the running/ fast walking at this session and after feedback from participants and staff, we will be ensuring that the spirit of walking football is upheld and caters for the needs of the group.

Correct Blood - if a team is to be built to compete we need to stick to the rules

The Trust has addressed the issue - see above
