National One-Hit Wonder Day

One of the best- What's Up? 4 Non Blondes.

One of the worst- Lipps Inc. Funky Town.

Rolling Stones had several, but I've heard they dedicated "The Last Time" to the nobbers' only playoff success

Like I posted earlier and asked could anyone name another track from the Lotus Eaters, I'll give you another......
Brian and Michael, matchstick cats n dogs.
Yeh they wasn't 1 hit wonders but name another without googling 😉

Buggles were fronted by Trevor Horn. He was a member of Yes and the producer of Frankie Goes to Hollywood and the Art of Noise.

Move on up - Curtis Mayfield
Brandy you’re a fine girl - Looking Glass.
I saw the light - Todd Rungren
Sorry to join this thread late, but I would have to agree with 'I Saw the Light' by Todd Rundgren (don't forget the 'd'), absolute classic! 👍
He may have only ever had one UK Top 40 solo hit, but he also produced one of the biggest selling albums of all time - Meatloaf's 'Bat Out of Hell', so he managed to scrape by! 😉

Frank Wilson: Do I love you ( indeed I do).
Whether a chart hit or not arguably the most famous Northern Soul record, largely as a result of being the last song ever played at Wigan Casino.
Also the most expensive single ever sold.

Wah had another top twenty hit with Come Back

Putting my pop pedantry hat on, I think that was when they were called The Mighty Wah! rather than Wah!, so I think technically two one hit wonders there 😁 I think Wylie had about 5 or 6 variations on the name, though I think the line-ups were pretty much the same for all of them.

And Hans Zimmer of multiple huge film soundtracks played keys in The Buggles too. Saw him in concert at Wembley Arena once and Trevor Horn rocked up as special guest to play 'Video Killed the Radio Star' live. It was a bizarre concert.
