My memories of Stevenage

Those of you travelling to Broadhall Way / Lamex Stadium next week, here are my opinions as an ex-Stevenage resident of places to park, eat, drink etc.

Opposite the ground is Fairlands Valley Car Park. Probably a bugger to get out of after the game but it is literally over the road from the ground.

Pubs etc: Nearest is called 'Our Mutual Friend' and is within walking distance from the ground, next to the Esso garage on the roundabout. If you love the plastic glass experience then you'll love this boozer.
My advice would be to head for the 'Old Town', just to the north of the Town Centre. There's a Wetherspoons there and a number of boozers to eat and drink in, then either a 30 minute walk or a cab to the ground to the south of the town centre,

Coming down the A1(M) there are other towns you could call in at (though I have little knowledge of there). Biggleswade, Baldock, Hitchin even, will all have watering and eating holes and a short drive to Stevenage.

Oh, Junction 7 of the A1(M) serves the ground the best, rather than the more northerly Junction 8 which feeds into the Old Town after a few dual carriageways.

Good luck, and bring 3 points back!!!

I've reserved parking at Tesco for £4.50.

8 min walk according to Google. On Yourparkingspace.

It different from when we used to go to the odd Conference game there John! They’ve done well for themselves since and are a well run club with a tidy ground. I hope we get a good turnout, they have given us 800 tickets but the away end holds a lot more than that, let’s hope we sell those and a lot more, it’s a massive game.

Miss you being around mate, hope all is well in KK and send my love to Ket.
