Most Emotive Music

The music played before Chicago bulls games (Alan parsons project) Sirius is amazing and really gets the crowd ready for the inevitable defeat that follows it. Spine tingling .

It’s Atmosphere. Not the Russ Abbot version either. Followed by In A Lonely Place ....and I mean the Cargo studios recording not that I’m trainspotting or anything. Thank me later.
I’ve got the 7” single,22/1/1981, Bronze cover: Ceremony:Fac 33A with Bernard Sumner on vocals. And, ‘In a Lonely place’ Fac 33B with Ian Curtis on vocals, but can’t find whether it was recorded at Cargo or not, Martin Hannett produced it so I’m thinking it was.?

Anything by the joy division is simply the best. Ian Curtis was a master with words .So many beautiful songs<craftsmanship such as Dead souls, New dawn fades and the greatest song i have ever heard Love will tear us apart> Oh how i wish i had gone to see them when i had the chance< something i have regretted for forty years> He let you look in his soul>

I was ‘in drink’ earlier. It should’ve been clearer....atmosphere from Cargo session. I think In A Lonely Place came from Strawberry in Stockport although a much later rerelease had Ian’s vocals on it. I’d have to look back.

This, especially the bits where the strings come in. Could pick a goodly number of Nick Drake tracks. The fella was unreal. I'm not really a 'singer song writer acoustic guitar' fan in general but he's timeless and his songs have a kind of fragile melancholy and depth I've rarely heard anyone come close to recreating.

‘In drink’ 😄 Memories from those years were always a bit off centre due to the imbibing of something or another. Dug this cassette out earlier, used to tape John Peel most nights back in late 70’s early 80’s before buggering off to Spain for 10 years. 95609954-ED2F-481E-B9F7-8F658E6339E4.jpeg

I'm also not what I would describe as a big country fan (I also am not a fan of Big Country fwiw) but this: wow.

Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan this time, sorry for spamming with films but a great theme from one of THE great films and still easier to understand than Tenet 😀

Bit off-topic. Lytham. I usually like his (Nolan's) films, but saw The Prestige tother day, and though it stank. Is it regarded by you, and other Nolanophiles, as one of his best?

It's my favourite to be honest, the whole film is the exact trick that Michael Caine describes in the opening scene. He tells you what's going to happen but everyone misses it. And it's got Bowie in it!

Perhaps I'm a bit thick. Had the feeling of a self-referential literary structure, but didn't care enough for any of the characters to put in the mental spadework. I'll give it another crack someday. Love Bowie, too, but thought he was just plain silly in this. Oh, well. I've still got "Tenet" to unravel!

You may well have heard this before but if not put away any football allegiances for 5 minutes and listen to this . . . I'm no Hibs fan but I do live in Leith and know how passionate their fans are. This version of 'Sunshine on Leith' is just brilliant.

This was 4 years ago and the last time any team other than Celtic won a trophy in Scotland . . . it was also the first time they'd won the Scottish Cup for over 100 years !!
