Mike Garrity Appointed Assistant Head Coach

Impressive CV - hopefully his time at Molde and with China will have given him access to some contacts and an idea of some players who could influence the squad here that other teams wouldn't be aware of.

You don't spend that long at Liverpool and work for the big Scandinavian clubs (who spend a great deal of their resources on youth development) and get roles with the Chinese FA without having real talent. He's quite young too and also a UEFA Pro-Licensed Coach.

12 months ago we were looking at bringing in Andy Preece - Chorley's assistant. We're in a different universe all together under Sadler.

It looks like we are possibly putting together a genuine world class coaching team.

What worries me is that I am a great cook, but give me rubbish ingredients and it will be awful.

In Simon we trust 👍

Dunn is still 1st team coach I believe.
Can anyone answer the question I asked yesterday, is he Mike related to Ben Garrity?
Just for the record I'm not confusing him with Brett Gerrity

Was he out of work then? This was from 2018?

Long-serving Liverpool Academy coach Mike Garrity has parted company with the club.

The under-23s assistant boss has left the Reds as part of an extensive summer reshuffle at Kirkby.

Garrity, who served as interim under-23s manager for the second half of the 2016/17 season following the exit of Michael Beale, worked across a number of age groups.

Back in 2009, he was tasked with overseeing the under-6 to under-11 age groups as well as being the lead coach for the under-9s. He progressed up the ranks and worked with the under-18s before moving up to the under-23s.

Garrity won’t be replaced as Liverpool look to streamline their Academy staff this summer. Neil Critchley will remain as under-23s boss for the 2018/19 campaign but he will no longer have an assistant.

I think he was made redundant due to budget cuts but has since coached at Molde (Europa league club) and for the Chinese FA, so he must have something about him
