Mick McCarthy

Nixon just suggested his name on radio lancs said theres been a bit of noise in the last half hour

I think he would be decent, masses of experience, will not stand on the touchline with his hands in his pockets and will be a boost for all of us. He is a bit dour in interviews but always has a twinkle in his eye. Plus I've just had a call from an unknown number from a bloke with a strong Yorkshire accent saying he knows where I live if I start having a pop at the new Pool manager WTF!! 😂

Actually, nah, it would be a mad appointment!

So if it is him and there's nothing to confirm it is, would having a new manager who could be just as popular as MA affect the way supporters feel about Sadler & BB?

It almost seems like whoever we get they are not going to be good enough, bit of a mess really.

He’ll be very popular if he gets a tune out of the squad.

TBF despite my previous comment he does have a dry sense of humour not sure Apples had any. He is a true footballing man and knows the game well I would get right behind till the end of the season. Someone mentioned Gary Monk to me unsure but I think he could do a job, kept Birmingham up if I remember rightly.

How have we managed to be linked with someone more depressing than Appleton?
If it is him, and I don't know if it is but just say it is, it confirms my suspicions that Sadler is a drab, grey, anorak wearing man who hates flair, creativity and passion, he likes boring, steady, dour employees who won't cause him issues. I actually think he would do okay to the end of the season but no one even thought it would be him and you can see the reasons why. The last thing the club needs now is sacking the manager who the supporters hated and replace him with another, it would be madness. Let's see if the Bookies, Nixon et all are way off the page.

I'd say it shows that he wants to stay up but knows they'll then have to get their act together next season to make sure it's not just a stay of execution.

Everyone would just have to suck this one up and accept that it's an attempt at a means to an end, and at least there'd be an obvious plan. Stop conceding goals and making sure if we only score one in a game then it's the winner. Rather than just meandering aimlessly.

It's an awkward situation. In terms of keeping us up McCarthy, Pulis or someone of that ilk would probably do the job but I'm not sure about them long term.

Longer term you might want a young progressive coach but bring them in now and it's more likely we will get relegated. Not easy.

If only it was that simple, this appointment is crucial in so many ways one being to lift the place, if this appointment was made it could have the negative effect and then the supporters will really turn on Sadler and BB. It's not confirmed so lets hope it isn't him. Like I said I think he could keep us up, which is so important but I also think he isn't the right person at all.

So it could be Grayson, Quitchley, Appleton, McCarthy, anyone else see a pattern forming? Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

And he completely ignores the likes of Ollie, Evo etc.,

Nixon just said on twitter that we've got someone but he's not sure who yet, he's still working on getting a name. So this sounds like a rumour he's heard doing the rounds.
