MCLF Match blog - Shrewsbury Town vs the Mighty

Pretty much just how I saw it too. Including the walk to and from. Starting at a park and ride that surely should be FOC but because it's 'football innit' they bang you for a fiver. Then a mud strewn stroll through the dystopian future of retail Westworld to a tidy but unimposing little stadium with an immaculate pitch (incidentally, perfect for passing football 🤔).

Dembele's first half slalom, his goal, and the moment when time stood still as he left two defenders like pensioners at the bus stop before crossing from the second were the reasons we do this 👍

On the pitch - Did you see the inexplicable bobble that Marvin had to deal with? Suddenly from nowhere an innocuous rolling ball jumped as it possessed by a spirit and I thought 'of all the players, that would only happen to Marv' - managed it well though.

Funnily enough, we commented on how good the pitch was, but then Ekpiteta got one that turned off a length and jumped up on him😉

100% @Insider - I keep looking at the table and 4 more wins at some of the shit sides at the bottom of this league would have placed us nicely for automatic. When the season is over, I doubt many will celebrate our home record but instead will look at the hugely disappointing away record.
5 wins away from home out of 18 played is nowhere near good enough.
 
Great blog as per usual. Echo the comments regarding the town. Spent the weekend there with the wife. Quaint little town steeped in history. I described it at the last bastion of Englishness as it seems cut-off from the rest of the country, which is staring into the abyss right now and becoming unrecognisable. Big up Shrewsbury 👍
