McCarthy out.

Definitely a masterclass though playing 5-3-2 and two League One standard players as wing backs with Connolly in midfield. That was genius.

Instead of Appleton playing his favorites every game regardless of how they perform, we now have McCarthy playing a rotating system
of giving every one of the squad a game, and making 7 changes to the previous team.

I don’t think any manager would be able to better with our current players
I honestly think anyone could do better with our players.

I’m sorry but it’s just not true. Poveda is an ex Barca and City trainee with obvious and clear talent. Patino, one of Arsenal’s hottest prospects. Rogers was good enough for Bournemouth who got promoted last season. Bowler’s been sold for millions. Yates is a Championship striker. We came 16th under Critch with a worse squad without pulling up any trees, it wasn’t ground breaking stuff.

If you think McCarthy is doing the best we can with this squad that is simply delusional.

Maybe it is delusional as my love for McCarthy as a child with Roi and convincing myself he will turn it around

My heart says yes but my brain is saying no

I am sorry but it has to be. He’s had 7 games now and each one has been utter dross. Even the one win among them was just dire. His dinosaur tactics just aren’t suited to the modern game, nor this squad.

It’s not McCarthy’s fault.

Was the same for Appleton.

I posted a couple of weeks ago even the likes of Pep or even Arteta couldn’t motivate this shambles of a squad we have.

If half of this lot are here next season we’ll even struggle in league one.

We’ve been out of our depth all season and by far the worst side in the championship and we’ll finish miles adrift come the end of the season.

Face it we’ve had two disastrous transfer window where we failed to spend some money on getting better players in.

Why all the clamouring for Dobbie? It could scar the poor bloke for life having to manage this lot
I agree, if we’re gonna get rid of McCarthy, then replace him with the head coach who is going to be employed for next season and start planning now . Maybe miracles do happen and he may keep us up.

🦖<------Mickiosaurus coming and he is a whole new breed of Dinosaur which is now taking the proverbial piss out of the fans the club and everything Blackpool.

With the players available today, just out of interest what would your starting 11 of been
Well it’s not hard to pick a better team, that was a joke.

Grimshaw
Gabriel-Nelson-Connolly-Thompson
Dougall-Carey
Bowler-Poveda-Hamilton
Lavery

That’s what I would have started with. Yes I know Carey in that role isn’t ideal but still a better balanced team than the crap MM put out today. To be honest though we could play with 14 players on the pitch and would still lose.

The squad is practically the exact same as last season minus Keogh? Appleton was very unlucky with injuries, but arguably the squad now is better than it was 12 months ago.

Hopefully this teaches some of you not to spit your dummy out. Would have stayed up comfortably with Appleton in charge. Half the teams we have played in the last 8 games have been garbage, and with a bit of pressure on them we would have picked up points.

But you made it too toxic to not sack Appleton and now we are down. Grass isn't always greener.

That ain't winning fuck all in this league with that side it has Lge1 written all over it.

You talk about garbage teams but do you not think were a garbage team?

We’re bottom of the league for a reason.

I'd say the last 3 have been pony!

Do you actually go to games what toxicity apart from Wigan away it was bloody tame compared to others?

We are garbage, but Appleton had us playing some decent football and scoring goals early on in the season - although in small spells, but you could see a game plan and a way we wanted to play. You went to games thinking if we turn up today we can get 3 points. Injuries and suspensions were a major problem.

What is being served up now is atrocious, I literally can't see us getting more than 1, maybe 2, lucky wins until the end of the season. No game plan and no idea.

Nonsense, every time we conceded the first goal it was 'sacked in the morning' for at least a month before the wigan game, when the team really needed our support and we were down the bare bones.

I don’t believe for one second that we would stay up under Appleton not to mind stay up comfortably

We were going down under Appleton, and we are probably still going down under McCarthy. If Dobbie is the answer and I'm not saying he is, then league 1 with a fresh start would be a better place to kick off his managerial career.

Our only hope this season is our home form, where we are unbeaten under McCarthy, which puts the onus back on us as fans to create the right atmosphere. Away from home we are pants ....

Of course they would just try and play football with your better players

McCarthy hasn't a fcuking clue

Garbutt ffs.....

Who.......
Disagree Phil I don’t think any manager could motivate this lot.

Heads have dropped and the players have accepted life in league one awaits.

Even the owner/board have as well.

Shocking suggestion!
Worse than any all season!

Same old nonsense - people clamouring for EX POOL players. Dobbie this, Dobbie that.
Get over it - he was just an ex-player like the rest. The emotional ties and nostalgic yearnings have no weight of credibility to them, other than people wanting to see an old favourite get the job.

We need a proper manager, a decent proper manager who can do a rebuild job - it's not an apprenticeship scheme, we're hoping for someone to get us out of League One and back into the championship. Stop with the Dobbie BS.

Obvious to everyone, even before his appointment, except for Bullshít Ben.

Appleton started the problem u goon

I think we need to get things into perspective. Almost all the players were already at the club before McCarthy took over so if, as expected we are relegated at least give him a summer to make the signings he'd want and then judge. If things in league one are awful then obviously look into his position then but I think he should at least be given a chance

You wouldn’t play Garbutt at wing back or Connolly in midfield though. Will never understand why people think Connolly in midfield is a good option. It’s a massive step down from Dougall and that’s saying something.
Connolly played two seasons for us in centre mid. Why is it such a stretch given the current injury situation re centre midfield?

Also Garbutt played left side of midfield for a season at Ipswich. For McCarthy.

Garbutt and McCarthy's paths didn't cross at Ipswich.

He played as a left back and left wing back for Paul Lambert in league one.
