Maxwell?

There must be a good reason for Grimmy being left out - injury / tactical / ... no doubt we'll get to know later.
Master stroke or huge error? The thing is - how did the poster know this news at 12.30?
Edit: Grimmy on the bench means he's been dropped.

I,m hoping Maxwell plays well but fearing the worse. The reason he was dropped because he wasn't playing anywhere near good enough .

I see it more as squad rotation, which is part of the modern game, rather than Grimshaw being ‘dropped’.

Both are excellent ‘keepers.

Let’s see how Maxi does before we condemn. I’d prefer Grimmy but you never know.

He won’t be short of work to do today.

Btw. I’ve found wifi in the ground that actually works!!!!

Squad rotation?

We’ve just had an international break 😳

Not suggesting Grimmy is ‘tired’, if that’s what you inferred.

Simply that you’re not going to keep a ‘keeper of Maxwell’s quality happy at the club without a chance to prove he’s better than warming the bench.

They’re both good ‘keepers, but a little competition for places in any area of the team surely has to be a good thing?

There was no good reason to drop Grimmy, none. It's a poor poor decision i'm afraid, although it hasn't cost us today it will do. Maxwell's judgement and reactions just aren't as good.
I reckon it was a good decision to put maxwell in, grimshaw overall is better but we need two good keepers, if grimshaw got injured and maxwell hadn’t had game time we’d be screwed, let’s face it as it stood all he’s done is pottering around on the training ground saving shots from players who in general don’t really score much anyway
He certainly didn’t let us down today & it’d be very harsh if he was dropped for Sunderland, keep the pair of them on their toes, bad performance and you’re out is going to get the best out of them

Funny old game - but for the post and bar we could have gone in at half time 3 down.

Pleased to see Maxwell get his chance today and I really rate Grimshaw. Competition in the GK position will be more important than ever this season we maybe grinding out draws

Bet you didn’t say that about Maxwell when we played Sunderland away. For me it was correct to change. Recently Grimmy has been a bit off especially when clearing the ball. We have 3 great keepers in the club no harm in swopping around.
