Line in the Sand game

Shouldn't be saying this on the 8th game of the season but this weekend is a real line in the sand match for me.
Win and we'd be back in the top half and back to within 4/5 points of the top teams with a game in hand.
Draw and our points ratio remains under 50% and we continue to drift with tough games to come
Losing is out of the question and would place a massive question mark over Critch.

He must regret some of his decisions in August and whilst a win would be welcome, it would then have to be followed by a 'performance' and more point(s) against Barnsley.

In my opinion, we will have a fairly good idea of what the game holds once the lineup is announced.
CJH/CC as wingbacks and three centre halves = likely negative dross
Start with players in their specialist positions and we have a chance

Ridiculous that there are such strong feelings being expressed across this board so early in the season, and when we've only lost twice. Indicative of a "we're too good for this place" mentality that is excessively arrogant to say the least. None of us are too happy about some of the performances this season, but there's plenty of time to sort it out and no need for drastic action for quite a while yet. Saturday isn't a line in the sand game, especially against a side that put 9 past Exeter last night.

I've said let's see where we are after 10 games which I think is fair. It's not so much the dour football we are playing it's the fact I see so little improvemnent to date. All I ask for is progress and I don't see it thus far.

I will probably be slated for this ,,,but in my opinion ,,,this I a six pointer game ,,,as with Reading being deducted points ,,,,if they win ,,,then it will be a boost to them ,,,not realy a team that Pool can lose points to ,,

I know it's too early to do this, but: Points per game at the moment would mean 59 points at the end of the season and avoiding relegation comfortably. A loss would mean a 41 point haul meaning definite relegation and having played 5 home games and 3 away. Of course a few wins could change things dramatically at the moment. Sadly we look more likely to draw with a loss the 2nd most likely outcome with the way we are set up.

As I see it (assuming it’s not called off) then Saturday is almost certainly a must play game. I definitely think we should play 👍

I really cannot believe the number of people on here who seem content to carry on with this chite! We endured all last season and now, in a league lower, we are suffering again only worse in my opinion.

8 games in and even Stevie Wonder can see things have to change. Some of us saw it after 2 or 3. I'm pretty sure there are some on here who may need another 20 games maybe. Let's hope those within the club can see it and make the necessary changes to improve things.

The style of play is currently poor and the positions taken up by some players are unfathomable. However, Grayson Mk 1 got to 8 points from 33 (11 games), before things picked up. Lose against Reading and we're still a point above Critchley Mk 1 at the same stage of our promotion year. So...for me, not a line in the sand but the fat lady's booked her taxi to the theatre.

Graham Carr was sacked in November, after something like 16 League Division 4 games in 90-91; we were pants.

He managed 5 wins from those games. One of the 8 league defeats was the 3-5 at Halifax. We scored few goals and the standard of football was poor.

The threshold for tolerating failure is much lower now.

I can still see that game in my head now and that was one of the lowest times in my time supporting the Pool 😒

Won't be an easy game, but due to his awful approach to games it has become one we need to win.
Only problem is can Critch see any other way than the Critch way?
