Lets All Remember the Good Times!

Everything seems to be all a bit doom and gloom in the world of football at the moment, particularly for us Pool fans.

It's very tempting, and therapeutic, to vent about our current league position, a decimated squad or the performance of our manager.

Not only that but we've got a slightly controversial world cup just round the corner that prompts all types of contentious issues.

That being said, let's remember the good times! Let's share our favourite moments in football, whether they are Blackpool related or not, let's hear them and spread some joy!

For me I've got really fond memories of waking up early to get ready for school in 2002 so I could watch England during the world cup in the assembly hall. It was the first world cup that I really remember and was the start of a life time love of football.

Blackpool wise, its got to be the playoff game against Cardiff. Absolutely sweating in the boiling heat at Wembley and being blinded by the sun for 90 minutes, what a game and what a day!

The good times carry far more weight than the bad ones, and even now, we're in the Championship with over half a season to turn round the current position.

Since we beat Coventry, they've won 4 on the bounce and surged up the table. No reason why we can't do the same.

My favourite game ever, leaving aside the surreal Wembley experience of 2010 was the game immediately before it. A fantastic night to be in Nottingham with a DJ hattrick.

Exactly. Negativity breads negativity. Everybody moans about how negative it is at the moment yet all they do is moan about the club/players/managers/owners. God forbid they come and read this forum no wonder their confidence is shot. The slating and blaming.
Let’s all try do our part and be a little more positive

Just love that negativity bread. Toasted with lashings of butter...yum.

I don’t feel downhearted about our current situation at all..although pissed off at times, yes.

Languishing near the bottom of division 4 and having to apply for re-election, was however, seriously depressing, as was not being able to go to games during NAPM. Perhaps expectations are a little too high 🙄

I gave this board a huge swerve since Saturday. It does wonders for your mood and helps you keep a sense of perspective!

For me, like Wizard says excepting the Cardiff final, it was Forest away in the play off, followed by Wigan opener in the Prem, Brett’s goal against Spurs, the double over Liverpool, Darlo away, and England’s 1-5 in Munich.

Thinking of Keigan Parker’s sublime strike v Yeovil at Wembley in 2007 always cheers me up. I had a great view of the flight of the ball from behind the goal and watched it all the way from his sweet right foot until it bounced over the line.

I agree it’s all about taking the positives from any situation.

Take Torquay Wembley 1991. A particularly low point and possibly the worst set of penalties I’ve ever seen but it was the first time I saw us at Wembley and we managed to blag our way into the Wembley Catholic club before the game where Guinness was just £1 a pint IIRC.

The play-off semi-final Forest away is probably top of the list closely followed by another play-off semi-final against Barnet with Billy Ayre stoking up the crowd with the clench fist salute.

I never gave up during the Div 4 re-election days and tbh some of those teams could teach football a lesson on pride and commitment.

Today I'm more pissed off by the lack of taking opportunities. And that seems to me to be down to the recruitment team. That Div 4 team was where it was because it had no money, not because it had it and wouldn't use it.

Me neither.. I remember being freezing at Gigg Lane, getting stuffed and thinking this is as low as it gets 🙄 Didn’t put me off at all though, that’s what supporting the ‘pool is all about!! 😂
