Would say it matters hugely to the financial side to the club and the attendances will drop markedly but as a fan not that much IMO, I’ve been used to us been awful for many years and our natural level since I’ve been born is league 1. I wish for more but I’ll be happy having a team to support and in a way I am looking forward to hopefully getting to a few new away days next season. In a ideal world we will come back stronger and learn our harsh lesson

The easiest relegation I've ever experienced but that says more about me and where I am in life. I don't let it bother me the same these days , if we lose a game I'm over it in minutes instead of it spoiling the whole weekend.
I won't spend the summer stressing about who we sign and who gets the job either. Bring on the cricket and the golf, football can do one for a bit.

Agree with every single word, my feelings entirely.…I’m loving the IPL cricket by the way 😎

You support the team whichever division, yes, agreed.

But I do feel relegation matters because of how avoidable it was. Our buy young, sell on and re-invest mantra seemed to go out of the window as soon as Critch left and exposed a severe lack of planning and preparation.

Even though we were a bit of a small fish, we stayed up comfortably and were at a point where you're probably looking at ~£10m for Bowler and Jerry, never mind the rest of the squad.

Had we kicked on and invested well, how many seasons were we from having a crack at the playoffs, 2, 3?

Of course speculative, but you might be looking at 5-7 years to get there now if we struggle to bounce back.

You can argue the toss about a natural level, but the fact is we had a chance to push on and blew it. And given our size we will feel the financial ramifications of that.

Fair shout I’m at that point in my life as well, don’t get me wrong it hurts but tomorrow is a new day just gotta pick myself up dust myself down and get on with it
not fussed about the golf though

The relegation was easier to take than in the past, but that comes with age and life experience plus losing close family members and friends put
football into perspective. This season was predictable and with the appointment of Appleton and his strategy of using young inexperienced
and not-very-good footballers, was to be expected. It was obvious in October that we would be relegated, and MM and Dobbie just provide a distraction from the fact that the team and the squad weren't good enough for this division. Hopefully, next season we will start again, and let's hope we win more games and push for promotion again.

I thought fans took it really well at the game.

Obviously on here a few nutters are throwing aboit some ridiculous comparisons.

Yeah, the manner of last night's defeat made the relegation somewhat easier to stomach. I stayed and clapped them off, there was hardly anyone left in the area by the time I'd rounded the kids up and got to the car - and I've got very little affinity to this group of players.

It fell more for my boys than me really.

I'd watched us play for over 20 years before I finally saw us in the 2nd tier. I've not known any different really.

My boys have had a better football experience far earlier in their lives and I was hoping they could have it for far longer.

At the back end of last season, you could see positive progress and a plan; this morning just feels like we've gone back decades.

And none of us know how long it will take to get back up; I just hope it's not another 20 years

It does matter because I'm invested, time and money. But I agree with others too, that I'm over it very quickly these days, and I think the reasons for the relegation are not as worrisome to me. We've gone down due to bad decisions rather than financial problems or an underlying issue like the Oystons. Bad decision making can be quickly and easily corrected and learnt from. Clubs like Oldham and Scunthorpe have had loads of serious problems leading them to be languishing in non-league. Ours are nothing in comparison, and while we should be comparing ourselves to better clubs than those two, I do think it's sometimes good to take a step back.

If there was anything positive to take from last night's game, it's that at no point did it ever become toxic. The fans support remained, there was a positive energy even at the end and in the face of adversity, and it felt like the club was still unified despite such a desperately bad season. I think that bodes well, and long term we'll be ok. Progress isn't, and never has been, linear.

Don't often agree with what he says in his videos but on his last one he said, next season is just another season playing different teams, we'll still be supporting Blackpool.

So true and on a more level playing field, does relegation really matter?
A change from his previous video ranting about not wanting to be relegated then.

Same. Mine have missed out on two Wembley finals with the boycott and Covid. Probably get a load of shit at school, Tuesday. Oh well, they're addicted now so they can just ** suck it up and take their dose of disgusting BFC medicine like the rest of us 😄

The difference to Simon Sadler with be - £12 million plus with lower shares of the Sky Money and Premier League Solidarity payment

My sentiments entirely , never felt less bothered by a relegation . Rebuilding club us long term project there will be ups and downs . That's life .

Nope I still didn't want to be relegated but as I said in the video I had made my peace with it and I never really watch the other team anyway. I watch how we defend and how we attack the other team just play in blue or red or whatever so, I'll still be watching and dreaming of getting back out of this godforsaken league once again. It's how it mainly has been the past 40 years 😕

We need championship football to get the club and ground / training facilities upto the level required.
Straight away we lose 8m from tv rights, to have a few seasons / established championship club would put us on decent footings
