League One next season

With Barnsley losing that confirms the teams.

A pretty poor league if we're being honest. Reading, Wigan and not sure if you can add Derby to the list in terms of financial difficulties. "Big" clubs that were up there last season who should be competing again would be Bolton, Barnsley and Portsmouth.

There is no-one that strikes me as a standout in terms of budget, there is usually clubs down there throwing money at it to get out but seems they've all gone.

A brilliant opportunity to bounce straight back up. Would it be too much to ask for a league title, Simon?

There will always be a few surprises. But that’s the weakest looking league 1 for a while.

Other than Bolton and Derby, no real big clubs, can imagine both will be up there again. Charlton, Portsmouth and Barnsley too I reckon.

Then another surprise package will just appear out of knowhere, who have done pretty mediocre/crap this season, someone like Bristol Rovers or Oxford.

Let's face it, no league is ever easy to get out of unless you have a decent competitive budget and even then there's no guarantees. Distinct lack of "heavyweights" this time around, unless Derby get their shit together. There's always a team that comes from nowhere, a bit like Plymouth.
Stating the bleeding obvious but we need to get back to confidently winning games from the start, get the fans excited and onside and start to rebuild the feelgood factor.
A transfer window of intent would be a great place to start.

Haven't Derby sorted their finances out by now?
Not too sure, I'm not sure whether Reading have sorted themselves out either. I saw some of their fans saying it's not the case that they're in financial trouble anymore on twitter.

Never an easy league to get out of…
Very true, it was only tongue in cheek in regards to winning the league. The point does stand though, at face value the division doesn't seem anywhere near as strong in terms of who should be up there. There will be teams outside of that perception that will do well, so there is always a challenge. It's a brilliant opportunity if we can get the summer recruitment right with Critchley at the helm.

Reading supposedly appointing Wilder so they’ll be up there I suspect and Barnsley showed enough yesterday to suggest they’ll be in contention for automatic.

It really is a shit league, I thought the standard of football in the championship was shit last season and we still went down so what does that say about us…

You have to feel that next season it’s crucial that SS invests and we get straight back up, if he doesn’t then I will continue to feel the club is not right but I’ve been bouyed the fact that Critchley has felt the club is in a good enough place to return.
