Went in 2006 was brilliant and showed how diesels were competitive and reliable and they became preferred road cars for many after the race.
The circus surrounding Le Man's was also not to be missed

I was there in 2006 too tangy. It was all about the Audi and they just blew the rest away in their LMP1 cars. You're right, the racing's only one part of the experience and what surprised me is that it's such a 'British' event. Brilliant stuff, maybe I'll go again one year but won't be drinking half the amount of beer I did first time round, I wouldn't make it
