Last man standing

I ran this by the mods and they have no issue with this competition being run on the site should it get off the ground …. for now, at least

so how does it work

Each player picks a team that they think will win their opening fixture in the Championship on Saturday 30th or Sunday 31st of July.

Huddersfield v Burnley on the Friday, Watford v Sheffield United on the Monday and any subsequent mid-week fixtures are all excluded, simply to keep the organisation neat and tidy and within manageable limits for me, and this rule will apply throughout the season

if the team you select wins then you go through to the next round of the competition the following weekend. If the team you select draws or loses then you are out. if you forget to make an entry before the deadline, then you are also out of the competition. If your team‘s game is postponed, you will automatically be given the highest positioned team in the league before the fixtures are played that weekend that you haven’t already selected in an earlier round of the competition

You cannot pick the same team more than once in each competition

Eventually there will be one player left, last man standing, and that person will win the totality of any prize money.

The deadline for naming your team, by private message to me, will be midnight on the Friday before the weekend fixtures in question. A list of selections will then be printed on afvtt prior to the first game to kick off on the Saturday

it’s a simple game and I’ve tried to explain it simply. I haven’t covered how payments can be made yet, and some people may have questions about how the game is structured that I will happily answer should they arise.

Initially I just want to see if there would be any interest in participating in this competition on here

consequently I may bump this once or twice over the next week or so.

I'm in. What League levels are included or is it just the Championship? How would we pay?

My son is in one of these Last man standing syndicates there all friends or their mates so every one knows each other and it's done on trust.
Handing over money to someone I don't know on a message board I'd need a bit more and just be careful if sums are going into a personal bank It could Red Flag your account.
Being self-employed you wouldn't get me organising one of these HMRC would be on my case. 😁

Good luck I'm in if you manage to sort it but where money is involved can foresee problems.

Going with Poolseasider’s wisdom about collecting monies

Another time, another place perhaps

if anyone wants to join an oven ready last man standing, albeit based on the greed league, I’m hoping to have some details shortly. They had about 165 members @ a tenner a go last time I looked.
