Barrow do has a history. I could name events and names but I think I’ll decline.Players who impressed:
Trybull (I would be surprised if we keep him, too good for league one),Carey (attack minded), Lavery (handful), Tharme (solid), Norburn (never gives the ball away), Apter (very tidy player we have there).
All others were solid/decent, nobody had a shocker. Defence looked pretty composed on the whole. Still think we hold onto it a little long and overplay at the back but I guess that’s standard football now across all leagues.
351 first half, 451 second half.
Barrow were really poor in my opinion and think they will struggle this season.
1699 there, 700 Blackpool fans. Someone’s obviously fiddling the books as we had apparently sold 1000 and asked for 100 more….
All in all, a good comfortable run out with minutes in the legs
Thanks for the assessment. Trybull might well be too good for lge 1 but he's our player with an iffy injury record and under contract. If anybody wants him it'll cost. If he plays half the games this season I'll be very pleasantly surprised. Hopefully this is Apter's breakthrough season and Carey shows us all how good he really is. As does Matty Virtue.Players who impressed:

Wrong on all sorts of levelsTrybul will be on the same contract as last season, ie a championship contract. If a championship club wants him they will have to pay us a fee (possibly a big fee as we are only a couple of weeks off and he'd be hard to replace). Also they'd have to give him a better contract on championship wages, more than the championship contract he's currently on.
Cant see it.
Name one.Wrong on all sorts of levels
I’ll give you a very basic one - He isnt on a championship contract. Nobody in our squad is anymore.Name one.
Great read Mitch finishing off with a comparison to where we were this time last year 'chalk and cheese' springs to mind!https://mclfoot.blogspot.com/2023/07/the-first-big-weekend-of-summer.html

You must be his agent then?I’ll give you a very basic one - He isnt on a championship contract. Nobody in our squad is anymore.
Likely got a 30% cut on whatever we were paying him and I doubt he’ll make that 30% back up in England.
It’s either him or Stewart next year.
Tbh I was expecting a different formation for your blog.https://mclfoot.blogspot.com/2023/07/the-first-big-weekend-of-summer.html

I agree with the first three words of your post. And even if there was a relegation clause hes still our player and I cant see a flood of offers on the strength of a friendly against Barrow. If he smashes it in the first half of the season the situation may change in January, but we are still in the driving seat.Obviously nobody knows but it's almost a certainty that all of our players had a relegation wage reduction in their contract. That being said, since Trybull signed at a time when it looked quite likely we'd be relegated I doubt he'd have agreed to the standard 50 percent.
If I had to guess i'd say we gave him 8000 a week and it's likely been reduced to 5-6000 after the relegation.
Thats a quality read, put a smile on my face. Thanks!https://mclfoot.blogspot.com/2023/07/the-first-big-weekend-of-summer.html
