King Charles

Firstly I thought it was in bad taste on this occasion. I quite like eggs being chucked at the political chancers etc. Looking at the security guard's face you'd have thought they were hand grenades. But they are paid to take these things very seriously & he had the look.

There was criticism from some quarters that security was not proactive enough to stop the eggs. As well as security walking two paces behind the monarch in the road, there should have been a couple of plain clothes cops shadowing progress from directly behind the crowd. That’s where you can see someone preparing for an assault of whatever kind.

Perhaps there was, since the kid got hauled to the ground fairly quickly. But the kid managed to get his missiles off. What if it had been a terrorist throwing acid instead?

Received my MBE from Princess Anne at Windsor Castle on Tuesday afternoon.

Didn't really notice it at the time, but looking at the photographs and film, there are 3 members of staff, dressed in their finest uniforms, and they never take their eyes off me; and that's after going through the police searches etc.

I like that they are accessible, but we need to be careful.

You should have asked her whether she applied to replace Sue Barker on Question of Sport.

What an achievement! Your family must be very proud and rightly so…

Well done TSS - congratulations. In which field have you been recognised my good man 👍
Thanks.

The citation was Services to "the community of Hartlepool, particularly during Covid 19."

Not that it matters that much, I think, but I'll never be 100% sure, I was nominated by one of the then government ministers I was working with a lot during the lockdowns.

Odd getting getting a phonecall on WhatsApp the first time she rang completely out of the blue!

I could be wrong, but I can't think of anyone else who would know where to start the process.

Congratulations 👍
Back in the late ‘80’s, my dad was a cattle judge at Royal Show.. Princess Anne was presenting the awards and dad had to do the MC work etc... Dad calls a spade a spade and during a brief pause in preceding he politely asked... “ how’s your mum these days ?” ... her minders were none too impressed... the princess replied “very well” with a grin 😁

Why didn't you ask where mine was? 😉

Well deserved 👏

Not surprised they were watching you, someone in MI5 has probably had to read some of the rubbish you post on here with the rest of us 😂
