Ken Hensley

I see Uriah Heep singer Ken Hensley has sadly passed away. What a great band they were. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them at Preston Guild Hall in 1975 as I know others on this board did. Sadly approximately 48 hours later bassist Gary Thain joined the 27 club. Rest in peace Ken.

One of the great solo prog albums of all time that Jim.

Absolutely gutted, the music of our youth and Uriah Heeps Demons and Wizards was one of the first albums I ever bought and with The Magicians Birthday and the live double album my most played prog albums of all the other great bands of the time.

A multi instrumentalist, songwriter and singer he was a legend to me.

It’s a cold Autumn Sunday, rest in peace Ken.

I was at that gig. Gary Thain was an amazing bassist.

Played both albums last night, Pete. Seemed a good way to pay tribute. Tears in my eyes with Cold Autumn Sunday, music can provoke emotions for sure.

It was a fantastic concert one I have never forgotten. That makes us older boys does it not hertfordseasider. They brought out some great albums and the live album was special. July morning still sounds awesome. I also bought proud words and it is a fine album. Good music can indeed provoke emotions.

Not that many on here will know the music, but they were massive in the early/mid 70's. I remember buying Prou Words on a Dusty Shelf from a second hand record stall on Cambridge market in 1975, I was visiting at the time and still living in St Annes at the time, I also bought Blue Pine Trees by Unicorn at the same time, another great album produced by Dave Gilmour.

Listening to cold autumn sunday earlier. I have not listened to it for 40 plus years. I forgot how good it is . A wonderful song.

I must have missed out by a couple of years back in the day. Had a listen last night & I think I would have liked them. Will no doubt have another go soon.

Really enjoyed that video of july morning hertfordseasider-better than any previous videos of the same song I have ever seen. Class will always be class.
