Kemp returns to WHU

He had a few moments where you could see there was a decent footballer there, but loan players should really shine amongst the squad (think KDH/Ronan last year), Kemp felt fairly average in the context of our team. You couldn't really say he was better than anyone of our regulars, or much worse.

Good luck to the lad, at League Two he should really be able to show what he can do which will fill him with confidence. I hope this frees up a spot and we see another loan player join us soon. We haven't had much to talk about transfer wise thus far!

I thought he did ok , he help set up madine goal last week
He was instrumental in that goal, he also did a couple of good things in his game against Fleetwood in the EFL Trophy and a great bit of skill in the box against Bristol Rovers (albeit nothing came of it).

He has certainly impressed more than Woodburn, if I had to choose out of the two who stayed I'd have definitely picked Kemp but perhaps this was West Ham's decision to ensure he gets game time!

I'm fairly optimistic that now that Critch and the team know the lie of the land in League One, we'll bring someone in who is capable of having an impact on the first team.
With the amount of players we already have, it makes no sense to sign another squad player.

maybe , thought he gave better balance on left when he played , wonder if hammers wanted him off there wage bill , wonder if pool wanted him permanently 🤷. or as he is a London lad , maybe he wanted to stay down there

It may have benefitted all parties for this deal to happen:
If we have someone else lined up it frees up a squad place.
West Ham may not have had any long term plans for him; there's likely a sell on clause.
Orient get a decent player, especially for League Two.
Kemp gets first team football and is based close to home.

Can u name pools starting 11 🤷 I can’t , keeper , big marv , dougall and CJ for me are starters
the rest he has changed a lot , even madine dosnt always starts
full backs have changed , grant was in then out , then back in
so maybe your point is right , we now need players who will Instantly start
pool lack for me a quality number ten , who can help Yates and madine

A good quality attacking midfielder/cf would round the squad off nicely.

Mixed feeling's about this. He's shown some good moments, but overall has had very little impact for us. Seems like a nice lad and I wish him nothing but the best going forward. Opens a loan stop for us and another place in the squad, I think we need someone in soon though as we are looking short in wide areas.

I think he could have been a tidy player for us if used correctly. He’s better than league 2, and if he gets a proper run I expect to see him in the championship in a couple of years.

Been poor as have our other loan signings apart from Ballard.
When we get someone in they need to better than what we've got otherwise want's the point you shouldn't bring in squad players.

Good luck to the lad he was never going to get a game when CJ is fit so Lge 2 will do him some good in his development.

If I had to choose 1 position to strengthen above all others, I'd go for central midfield.
Despite all the bodies we have capable of playing there, none of them seem capable of taking the game by the scruff of the neck and bossing it. A real class act alongside Dougall in a 442 with whoever on the left and CJ on the right and Yates & Madine upfront would be more than a match for anyone in this division.
As it stands Critch still seems determined to play 433, meaning we then have 2 central midfielders ahead of Dougall, neither of which are capable of consistently unlocking defences. The front 3 (whoever they are) are too isolated and everything just breaks down.
Whenever we line up like that you just know we're gonna struggle to score.

He could make a name for himself at Lge 2 level, as I think we his better than that given a proper chance, this and probably being settled in the area could make it a wise move.

He is certainly backing his ability to start at the bottom after being at a PL club.
Only 6 months left on his contract so if the club weren't going to renew he would have been looking for a club.
