Joseph my MotM

Subs were excellent. But agree Joseph was motm and looks a player

With long trip critch please start these Saturday and let connolly (who last night was his 12th consecutive start) and CJ have a weekend off and rest.... please 🙏
Without getting into the debate about Connolly's ability he definitely needs a rest. It's not that we couldn't manage without him. I'd add Hubby to the list.
We could start on Saturday with a back 3 of Pennington/Eky/Casey (and yes I accept we are missing a leftie).

I've thought of him as workmanlike up until now. Magnificent tonight. Pressing, passing, tackling. An excellent performance.
From 70 mins onwards agreed... for the entire game Gabriel.. just opinions 🤷🏻‍♂️
The thought of our 4 young strikers benefiting from working with Jordan Rhodes for the rest of the season will, in my opinion, reap priceless rewards with Joseph being the one with most potential... the lad clearly has it all .. fingers crossed he comes of age on the pitch with us.

Good point re' working with Rhodes. I just hope that Critch retains some of this gusto and doesn't straightjacket them with strict formations.

Brilliant assist by Lyons for Joseph's goal, I thought.

We were clearly much more threatening when CJ, Carey and Rhodes were replaced by Joseph, Lavery and Dembele. Unsurprisingly.

If you do that Coulson must play in my opinion.

There were some stand out performances last night, a fantastic effort to run Forest so close and we could, maybe should have won.

For me Gabriel, Lyons, Morgan (back pass aside), Joseph, Lavery, O'Donnell and Marv were all superb.
Norburn does all the dirty stuff without being noticed. I thought Dembelle (although lively), Carey and Rhodes were all off it last night.
Grimmy was doing just fine until the injury.
Hubby, Connolly and CJ (who has the heart of a very small mouse) all looked as though they needed a rest.

Onwards to Bristol Rovers, in the grand scheme of things a much more important game. I'd love us to really go for it, we look a far better side pressing forward, quickly, than we do trying to play around and across the back.

I had a quick read of the Boro forum thread about Coulson leaving and the general opinion was that he's handy getting forward but dodgy defensively.

Totally agree and I’d love to see a team without husband Connolly and CJ as automatic picks..Carey isn’t doing great at the moment and needs to improve from the bench

Gabriel was imperious IMO, looked better than most of the Forest players, never mind ours. Morgan excellent aside from the clanger, Lyons grew into the game for me and did well. Loved to see Joseph show some of the potential I'd seen from him and hoped for prior to us signing him. Lavs too.

All good signs.

Speaking to a Liverpool fan this morning, he said he watched the game and was mightily impressed with us second half, he then said that Joseph looks a real player, I have to agree. He's getting fitter by the game, and just seems to be everywhere.
