Is he still with us ? Left sided CH/LB. What has he done or said ?
It can’t be for poor performances, because he hasn’t played

He played in Pre season and had a particularly bad game against barrow in EFL trophy.

Critchers obviously had his ideal type of player and he isn’t it...

Its incredible he is still here if he is so far down the pecking order that he has no chance of playing even when his specialist position is available

He travelled with squad to Wimbledon. There was a video on twitter showing players getting off the coach and he was one of them. There are usually a couple of extra players travelling in case of injury.

Ballard will be a big miss if we fail to get the red card rescinded. Ekipeteta and Thornily in the middle with Husband back to his preferred left back position could be an option. Mitchell needs to either play ahead of a left back who can defend or needs dropping. Robson can be covered by MJ with any of the following playing in a more forward position; Woodburn, Kemp, Anderson and Ward. The Burton and Wigan games are pretty big so Mr Critchley can't afford to get it wrong again.

He’ll be on decent money for League 1, along with Howe. Both doing nothing.

Tommy Johnson, has done the January and summer window, Grayson January and Critchley the last one, the common denominator needs to be looked at, or do him and Ben Mansford think they are playing Champ Manager.

Spot on with what I've been saying.

Again, it was a red flag when it appeared we went from Jones to Robinson to Wellens to Heckingbottom or ‘Hecky’ as Mansford called him. But fan backlash knocked that on the head and we went with Critchley.

If that’s how we are approaching signings...

Also Phil, i’m not ruling out us playing Kaikai on the right and CJ on the left over your inverted wingers comments on the Pod and here. Which again is a worry, no offence to your tactical insight mate.

I don’t buy this argument that he’s been shocking for us.

Last season I saw him at both Oxford and Wycombe. Other people have said they thought he was awful in these games, I didn’t see that. We’d been figured out by everyone at that point in the season and Larry struggled to adapt. The whole team suffered. Thorniley had just arrived and didn’t disgrace himself, whilst not pulling up trees.

Obviously Critchley doesn’t see him in his plans at all, but I’m not sure on what merit this season, as with any new coach Critch uttered the words “it’s a fresh start for everyone”.

Against Stoke away, he came on with 30 minutes to go, for me he solidified the back line against a very potent championship strike force helping to get a clean sheet.

The Barrow game wasn’t his finest, with some really sloppy positional and technical play. The whole team were awful that night and he played his part in that.

Against Accrington I thought he was one of the only bright spot, against a largely League One standard team he was composed, directing players around the back line and read the game in front of him.

My point is this, the coach as well as many many people on here plea for patience when Marv has some truly awful halves/games of football, I’ve literally seen Sunday league players read the game better than him on occasions, there’s usually also calls and then a squad place for experience at the back, this then arrives in the form of Turton and Husband out of position.

So with these squad moves and fan reactions it seems odd that Thorneily hasn’t done any worse than some of the current options we’ve tried and in fact has shown glimpses of being decent but is merely tossed aside as an after thought.

Even if you disagree with my sentiments about Marv or maybe Notts before he left, surely giving Thorneily a shot over full back would have been better?

Ha ha we don't get balls into the box do we ?

Even yesterday Kaikai was having to cross with his left and Kemp with his right when we had big Gaz just stood in the 6 yard box waiting for a decent ball

By all means play 433 but get the ball forward so we can create

Too much fcuking about at the back and in midfield

I read something a while back that said when Liverpool won the league only 3 other teams played more long balls than them

Obviously not up to it, expect to see Gretarsson play on Saturday and possibly Husband back in 🙈🙈🙈

I don't know whether its match fitness, or the astroturf thing (odd) or he's just not impressed since arriving yet, but I get the feeling Critchley isn't keen on chucking Gretarsson in yet. I suspect it'll be Husband at CB and leave Mitchell at LB. If Ballard is available, I'd guess Husband comes in at LB.

Agree with you there, especially against accy he looked good.

Similar to the Barrow game where I thought howe was our best player and hasn't been near the first team since.

Ben Mansford could be the problem 🤔
He is the problem, he’s basically pulling all the strings on the transfers in an out and so many shit players have been signed since he’s been here it’s baffling !

he’s been in the job around 12 months an brought in nearly two full squads in total an shipped the same amount back out !

I have worried that some are putting Mansford on some pedestal just because he's sorted out a lot of the behind the scenes problems - however that's like renovating a theatre and putting on the worst production ever. As much as the stuff that its going on away from the football is great, long term it's the football that has to be the priority and whether it's Manford or not, we clearly have had a problem since Sadler took over.
