Johnson and Mansford

There is plenty of examples of managers getting a job with no or little experience but the majority of those have a number two with plenty! That’s an issue for us currently, well one of many!

Totally agree @RossendaleSeasider - there was just something not quite right about our recruitment process, the agents we used, the role of Mansford and which players Critchley was involved in bringing in (or not!). Think there is a bit of a whiff of failure about our whole recruitment process from top to bottom and that has to be at Mansford's door.

What do those who have met him think of this bloke? I come at this with no viewpoint whatsoever but it seems he's had 18 months of utter failure on the pitch whilst at the helm.

He brings high fives to the dressing room and Turks love him like a large kebab with extra chilli sauce. He is also very careful to use the word ‘hopefully’ to redirect elsewhere any criticisms that might come his way.

Please don't get me wrong, I have got absolutely nothing against Critchley and I have always been of the opinion that people on here were too critical of him at the start - especially after defeats.

While he was at Liverpool he did stand in for Klopp as you suggest.

He stood in for Klopp for two cup games, one resulted in a 5-0 defeat at Aston Villa and the other was a magnificent 1-0 victory over the mighty Shrewsbury.

We all know that he only had inexperienced players available to him but I'm finding it very strange why his brief record as manager at Liverpool would have you suggesting to us that "he's been a success in the Prem".

To be honest with you, I'm thinking I'll take Welsh Phil's football knowledge over yours every day of the week and three times on a Sunday.

Surprised he's not got a top management position after his know all about Blackpool FC a week after the event. The guy could go far in his imaginary head of football knowledge. If Critchley has been in charge Of the 1st team then he has been around them for a while. Losing a game against Villa,is what happens in football life. Lets leave it at that.

I'm interested to know how anybody could come to the conclusion that Critchley has been a "success in the Prem" ?

Dont know where Liverpool finished in that season but would imagine in the top four. For someone involved in that club,its a success.

Critchley has NOT "been a success in the Prem" as we both know and I can't understand why you would choose to state otherwise ?

He’s not got it Critchley I’m afraid to say. He’s just not got it. How Yates still gets picked every week baffles me

Sometimes there maybe good reason to bring old threads back up but I think here it's just to have a cheap shot at a few good posters.

To be honest I just remember Ben Mansford was well and truly being lined up to be the fall guy for any shortcomings that the club might have. It couldn’t be Sadler and it’s not going to be the manager or players. They didn’t even know why they didn’t like him apart from “something about him that’s not right”.
It was complete bollocks then and it’s even more complete bollocks now.

Yet another who simply doesn't and will never get why there was an over the top reaction to our awful awful start.
 
These old threads are quite funny, even those who were wrong have to see that too? It's ok to be proven wrong of course, especially when it means a successful season. But the reason why these threads are amusing is that we'd only played about seven games of the season. It baffled me how people can make up their minds on someone so unequivocally after such a short time. Have doubts, yes, but seven games and mind made up with absolutely no chance of being convinced otherwise. Always a good chance you're going to be wrong if you haven't afforded someone a reasonable chance to prove themselves.
 
Never mind what was a fantastic turnaround season, paying great football and capped by promotion. The key issue is....
Did Rossendale get the answers to his questions? 😀

That's why we are supporters with no coaching qualifications, whereas Critch is elite status...
