Ivan Toney Goal

Anyone else see his goal from a free kick outside the box where he moved the ball to the right and picked up some of the refs white line stuff and put it in front of the ball before he took the kick?

I only saw the second half but Toney's performance was sensational. A masterclass of football. No problem with England for back up strikers and if he carries on improving his ceiling might even be higher than Kane's. Really pleased for Toney. Remember watching us play Peterborough when in Asia in 2018 and remaking how ludicrous it was he was playing in league 1. I also felt Armand Gnanduillet was superb in that game and another one far better than that level. I think it was Toney himself or one of the pundits that said despite his myriad attributes his main asset was his self-belief. Very true I think. You have to believe in yourself in order to work hard and improve. A lesson for so many league 1 players!

BRENTFORD were unlucky not to take anything from the game. a superb example of what a top flight club should be like. A Sustainable model . good modern stadia. Franck is a top coach . wish that could be us by the end of the decade.

Don't forget that Forest were very tired. They'd played extra time on Wednesday night 🤣

The Brizzle commentary kept banging on about them having played midweek and it had "taken a lot out of them." They must have had a few tweets or messages reminding them so had we, but also extra time, because on about the 6th occasion they mentioned it he said "oh but Blackpool did too which also went to extra time!" 🤷

A masterclass?! What planet are you on? Apart from the dodgy FK he did bugger all and was blowing out of his arse hence getting subbed early on.

yep, went and had a look at the incident . Very poor from the ref, very clever from Toney and no way it should have been allowed but apparently VAR officials don't have the power to interfere on that type of incident. Maybe the players on the pitch should have one more to protest but the evidence mainly shows the players with their backs to the ball trying to line up the wall.

Tony also said in his after match interview, "You can move the ball half a yard either way" Is that right? I thought once the ball was dead and been placed, the free kick had to be taken from there. That said, most players do place the ball down, which I suppose is the same thing.
Clever by Toney and all the match pundits said the Forest players should have made more of it prior to the free kick being taken.
