Critchley hasn't even had a full three months with this squad yet and still has 1-2 more signings to make. What we are trying to do (build a team that actually plays proper football) is incredibly difficult especially for this division and if one result doesn't go our way, it doesn't mean that the project isn't working, it just means that the project is still in the works.

This team has shown flashes of brilliance in pre-season and in moments during the first three matches and I'm confident in the long term that what Critchley is building is going to be brilliant and certainly take us out of this division, but it will no doubt take time and we need to accept that what we have right now isn't the finished product and that we might not see that finished product until next year. Keep the faith and don't let one result ruin all that Sadler has done and what Critchley is going to do. UTMP.
 
What makes me laugh is that you can guarantee the people who are throwing in the towel and slitting their wrists are the same type who call others "snowflakes" and moan about people for not showing the "Battle of Britain/Dunkirk/outdated WW2 jingoistic nonsense in other situations.
 
We all knew Gillingham would show us where we are up to...
and boy did they do that....
If your in the trenches you want Steve Evans with you....
Great manager at this low level.....
 
HOWEVER .. he is a knowledgable and clever coach who has proved himself at Liverpool and so why can't he see what every Blackpool fan has commented on about the lack of a decent centre half. Totally agree with the post but you can't gloss over such a glaring problem.

Do you honestly think he hasn’t noticed where our failings lie?
I’m sure, one way or another, he is working on the problems.

Maybe he has identified a quality young centre half to bring in on loan, but the parent club is yet to release said player, whilst awaiting the completion of a deal .

May not be his fault, it’s likely he’s identified who he needs and the powers that be haven’t been able to come up with the goods.
