Isn't it amazing what can happen

When you play a right footer on the right and a left footer on the left

Lets hope the tinker man learns from this

I've only been saying it all season

More solid defensively and balance when we had the ball, not fcuking rocket science is it?
It's really pissed me off all season; as has hoofing the ball up to Lavery/Dembele against 6 foot+ defenders, absolutely ridiculous. And as for 10 back at corners, what the fuck are those little ones going to do, leave one up front ffs!
I really don't understand why a professional football coach would do that?!
Anyway, great win today 😁

Just looked like a solid league 1 team today that might make the top 6, I'm happy with that.

Could only listen to the match today, and at half time I thought the lads had at least put a shift in after the cluster fcuk against Cheltenham. To come away with a win after being one nil down will put a smile on my face at least until Tuesday. Can we do it again ? Yeah.

We were still shit in the first half though.

Away from home against a good side, lacking in confidence and with a changed line up, I wouldn't say we were shit at all. We weren't great either but had a couple of good moments and didn't get overrun. 2nd half was very impressive. A stonewall penalty not awarded and great chances for Byers, Joseph, Lavery and Dembele. I feared the worst when we conceded first, so it really is a massive boost for the players and fans to know we can turn around a game away from Bloomfield Road.

We were shit in the 2nd half of the 1st half. We started off ok. The team appears to lose its way every time the opposition scores. Luckily for us Peterborough scored in the 1st half and didn't get a second, we cleared our heads at half time and regrouped and did a good job 2nd half.

When bringing Coulson in Critch said he wanted a left footer there for balance, Jordan has been injured/coming back from injury.

But he has badges. Therefore he thinks he is capable of outthinking the opposition with his over complicated nonsense. Get the basics right and you are onto a winner Critch

He is capable of outthinking the opposition - he's also capable of being out thought and the fact that you can't grasp it doesn't make it 'overcomplicated - nonsense'.. To most Coaches, Managers and Players it will all be pretty straightforward stuff. That's why they are playing, coaching and managing professionally and we are posting tripe on an internet forum 😂 😜

Yeah but I mean is having 2 holding midfielders the way to go?
It could be if you get 4 good players in front of them and make one of them a 6/8 that can join in (which I think Morgan can)

There's a certain truth to the idea that defensive solidity can free up attacking players.

I'm not sure it's the way to go in 532 tho.

Byers will get forward more from what I've seen of him.

We weren't at all. We pressed well & both Lavery & Joseph had chances. The opposition were at home & top end of the division plus league 1 top scorers so were always going to be under pressure. Goal was slightly disappointing.
There are times when our defence is as solid as marshmallow. We just seem to have no confidence on the ball and move it too slowly leading to errors which happened repeatedly in the first half. The transformation in the second was stark and the passing was crisper and there was always an outlet.

Agreed the second half we got on top, but unlike the annoyance I felt after a horrendous performance at Cheltenham I don't mind acknowledging how fluid Peterborough are going forward (top league scorers) so full credit to us for stopping them after the break.

liverpool have done it on and off for a few years - playing 2 solid, functional types who get it and give it (recycle it in the modern parlance i suppose), and generally just anchor the middle of the park, allowing creativity to flourish around them. it can work, for sure, but it's obviously heavily dependent on the creative personnel you are relying on to take advantage.

i'll be honest, i haven't seen the full 90 yet, but in principle, i like the idea of a midfield 3 with norburn, morgan and byers, and i can definitely see it working for us.
