Going way back to school days …. Our school games always had the rule that first goal only count as a half goal. No games were ever a draw except if it was goal less
I like that one.Penalty Corners.
Each team takes it in turn to take a corner, after three touches the ball is declared dead. Fouls by the defending team result in a penalty. Sudden death right from the start, first to score wins. Starting team decided by a coin toss.
That way, every member of the team is involved throughout, so no single hero/villain.
It would go one for DAYS.I like that one.
When was that nearly 50 years ago? They used to in the past when transport wasn't what it is now.
A quick game of double cuppies, obviously take the goalposts down and replace with jumpers, use a 99p plastic ball for top corner swerve shots, replace all boots with Kenyons 'two stripe' specials, sprinkle a bit of glass on the pitch and have the team's mums telling them to come in as it's going dark.
Actually really like that idea, best of 11 kind of scenarioMaybe it would be fairer if all 11 players have to take one instead of limiting it to just 5 players. Then it would be a reflection of the whole team's effort.
Anything like this just ensights a draw fest from the team that's got more of the aforementioned stats. It should be done on tournament points, if equal, total goals scored, if equal, total goals conceded, if equal then pens or golden dribbles from the half way line.
Yeah, I agree. I updated with another post today. No change for me. They know the rules, they should prepare for the implementation of the rules.Anything like this just ensights a draw fest from the team that's got more of the aforementioned stats.
No wayThe pressure on the players these days is immense and if unsuccessful, leaves them open to the sort of sh*t we saw after last night.
After extra time, if the scores are level, the winner could be the team with most shots on target, or corners won....
Thoughts?
I quite like this idea.to be honest, not sure there is anything better than as it is. The only thing that I could suggest is that penalties are a confidence thing as well as pressure and some players thrive on it. So each team names their eleven players in the order they will take a penalty and then it's sudden death straight from the off. So the most confident player will take the first penalty and the responsibility of missing.
One of the worst ideas I’ve ever heard. The pressure on the players these days is immense and if unsuccessful, leaves them open to the sort of sh*t we saw after last night.
After extra time, if the scores are level, the winner could be the team with most shots on target, or corners won....

England 2018?Is it just me or when it comes to penalties, the team I want to win always loses, it must av happened to me about 30 times on the run now ?
