iFollow advice and some default settings. Now edited and have a good look though for help and tips.

Despite being xperienced in ifollow it was a poor ifollow experience for me today. Once again I couldn't get access on the laptop using Chrome. Ifollow recommend Chrome.
I did get access last week for the home game using a code and all the same settings I tried this week.
I did get access via the app but casting it to the TV wasn't successful. Watched the 2nd half on the tablet which was fine but small!!
Engaged in chat with ifollow but an absolute waste of time.

I used chrome, laptop, HDMI to TV and it was just about perfect in picture quality (not on the pitch quality) bar the near edge which was a slight judder, but nothing too much- that would be nitpicking.

I did exactly that last week but for whatever reason it didn't work today.

I have been subscribed to Ifollow now since the demise of the stains and used it to watch every away game in that time.

In all that time I have had no issues with the service in any shape or form and here are my default settings.
My prefered option is Windows.
Laptop/computer:
1.Google chrome is my browser.
1a.Firefox is also an option and used successfully as mentioned down the thread.
2.HDMI cable to TV.
3.Ethernet cable is used rather than wireless.
4.Pre COVID I used a VPN/I.P. changer which was surfeasy(there are others) this is not needed at the moment. Keep this in mind if 3 pm games are not allowed post-COVID.

Ipod/iPhone
Download the Ifollow APP or try the Google chrome APP and(Firefox is a possibility too) try in the browser if the Ifollow app won't work for you.
2.Surfeasy/or other VPN APP if the restrictions are lifted and 3 pm games are banned in the UK.

If you still have problems try the old logging out and in.
Restarting the machine.

Don't do this any of this at 2:55 pm its most likely going to take longer than that and I think there is a feed at around half an hour before.

Any other tried and tested tips are welcome below.
Thanks in advance good people and UTMP.

I've been using i phone and mirroring it to smart tv and works well, not tried laptop and HDMI lead yet, but tbh its a three year old laptop so i think the the phone will produce better quality. I have IPTV but would rather pay the £10, i checked the IPTV stream for 5 mins today and it was woeful. I believe they lost the last 20 minutes of last weeks match too, that despite a lot of them claiming to have an Ifollow ST so a few of the got caught out last week. First game we came off the mirroring to use the phone and the second half wouldn't work for us, complaint went into the EFL and no reply, the follow up email also ignored. Quick to send out the text reminders though. It seems like a lot of fans are struggling with this so maybe the club could do a short guide on what will and won't work?

Strange. Hopefully a one off problem 👍
3 off. Stoke(had to subscribe twice), Plymouth and Gillingham, could only get access on the the app.
I did try another browser at HT and got the stats screen. When the play started I couldn't get a picture.
I spend an hour from 14.00 trying to sort it, think I've learned something from the previous experience and another problem arises.
I should be telling ifollow all this but I'd be better off telling Karl he wasn't unfairly dismissed. 😀
One of the questions I get asked is "am I using a VPN". Last season when I was I didn't have a problem. Might try that next time.

I said it last week and I'll repeat myself again. It is an utter shite service. Would you be happy if you paid a tenner to Sky or BT Sports to get that? Would you fuck, so why is it acceptable to the EFL? I know that the clubs get a large cut which is good, but should we be pissing about with laptops, ipads, and phones trying to get it onto a suitable viewing screen every week? I know a few that missed most of the first half trying to get the stream working. There's one camera and you get radio commentary which cuts off when they switch to reports about other games and there are serious issues with the picture quality. And before anyone asks, I streamed it via a very good I7 laptop through a high-quality HDMI lead connected via ethernet, not wifi. In the current situation, there needs to be an alternative.

This thread was put up to help people and was not meant to be used as a rant area..............

When did they cut away to go round the grounds last week?

Any firesticks that are less than 4K will struggle & I'd suggest an upgrade is required.
No mention of internet speeds. Crucial component.
Log on at 14.15 and I watch ifollow through amazon silk browser and a 56mbps BT internet connection. No problems.

It will have to be my IPad.Not great but as I no longer have a PC connected to the internet or a Smart TV then it‘s that or the IPhone which is an even worse bet.

Thank and have added it to the info.

No problem logging in today.
Just another reminder.
Make sure you are not logged into ifollow on more than one device.

1st half I've watched on iFollow and it's been ok as far as the quality goes.
I do have a question though - who are all the bodies sat in and around the ground? Why so many in hi-vis jackets?

So here is ifollow's response to my detailed complaint:

"Thank you for contacting iFollow with your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. It was an uncommon instance and we’ll do better.
After checking your account we were able to see that a refund has already been processed for the double charge for the carabao Cup from 05/09/2020.
In terms of the game Plymouth Argyle vs Blackpool from 12/09/2020, you were able to watch more than 60 minutes of the game without any issues so we are unable to provide a refund for it.
In terms of the game Gillingham v Blackpool from 26/09/2020, you were able to access it as well for over 40 minutes without any issues.
Please feel free to reach out to us with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance."

Words fail me.

They still owe you 80 minutes, seriously that is, a piss poor response.

I had no trouble with ifollow until the Lincoln match.
As an STH it should have been easy as the previous one have been. However, for some reason it wouldn't accept the Code which the club sent.
On Saturday I eventually gave up and paid £10.
I have tried to contact ifollow to get the £10 back, without success. Now I've sent an email to BFC asking about it.
Of course it might be my own fault. We'll see.

two things.
Firstly, I think mentioned somewhere on here previously... go into settings (gear icon, bottom right) and decrease the video settings a couple of steps - the quality won't visibly decrease, but will be using much less bandwith and less likely to stutter

Secondly, I've noticed a huge lag, over two minutes in both the last two matches. Not sure if it starts like that or gradually increases, but I got BBC goal notifications on my phone two minutes before the goals. Really ruins the enjoyment, so much so that I have to put the phone away during the match. I expect a slight lag, but the club are describing a penalty being scored on twitter before the stream has even got as far as the offence.

TT.
I've learned to avoid twitter and the like when the match is on. Even delay texts to son if we are watching in different places. His coverage was a minute ahead of mine on Saturday.
On one occasion last season (I think I was abroad) there was a 15 minute lag.

Absolute Dogshit customer service.

EFL customer service..jpg

Ok I’ve lowered the quality and still get the spinning circle. Is that because the stream hasn’t started or am I just scuppered? 🙄

thanks Insy, but just doesn’t want to work on my Surface Pro any more. No idea why.

Can always get it on my phone.

Rekt. Have you had a e-mail confirming your purchase?
Do you watch on your phone via the app?
If you can get it on your phone now then you need to log out.

Aye he an email, I watch it through the clubs website.
honestly tried logging out of everything and trying to log on just my surface pro. But just get the wheel of death.

Tried asking on the chat function, still waiting for a reply two weeks later. 😂

cheers for the help though.

Home games are fine, haven’t had a successful away game, the iFollow chat service was a load of rubbish couldn’t get through as to why without changing any settings you can watch a home game but not an away game, didn’t answer the questions and then ended the chat, how rude, anyone got a customer service email for iFollow as that was the last question that wasn’t answered

I had trouble with the last home game, previous ones OK. Using computer screen, which is big enough.
BFC sent the 'pass code' and I tried to enter it but it failed to accept it. I kept trying and eventually gave up and paid (got my money back).
Where do I enter the code???

Can you help Dave with his problem above, please?
I went to the test game and have a season pass so I didn't use the club match pass sent to me last time, so I cant help.

Dave. You have to follow the procedure as if you are going pay. They will need your card details. When the payment screen comes up there will be a box to enter your code.
I think you press the pay button and it should then be "nil" payment.
If that doesn't work let me know and I'll check when I log on at 14.00.
Good luck.
