Madine... watching Barrow game he just didn't look interested.

Hopefully they will both get a chance in the next two games to show what they can do.

I would loan Nuttall out to a League 2 side till Jan just to build his confidence up...I still think Madine will come good

I think we may have to pay a decent chunk of Madine's wage if we were to loan him out.
No idea how much Nuttall is on but I'd imagine he would be the easier of the two to move.

I definitely think we need another centre forward to pressure Yates and/or mix it up.

I just don’t see what Madine offers the team currently apart for some good hold up play and bringing other players in the build up. He does not score many, has no height or pace and is probably on a fairly sizeable wage. I’m happy to be proven wrong but based on his contribution in the friendlies I can only see him as a plan b sub to change a game for Critch. For the amount of dogs abuse Gnando got at least he bagged a decent amount of goals last season

Neither are going anywhere for various reasons.

This will be Madines last year with us.

I fear Nuttall will be with us and cost us for far longer than that.

I'm inclined to agree with you bar you saying he has no height... he's 6'3". Besides... I'd imagine Critchley wants us playing on the floor more... madine may not be prolific in front of goal but with his hold up play he can bring others in to play

Madine should be more than capable of being a great player in this league but his attitude is questionable and has been throughout his career,he’ll be one of if not the highest earners as well I’d of thought.

Madine and Kaikai the only players in our squad to score more than 10 goals in a season above league two level I believe

If Madine is on 4K a week as rumoured then I think we can spend that money far better. Personally would have seen Madine leave rather than Hardie.

Don’t see what Madine offers apart for some good hold up play and bringing other players in the build up? What is a forward supposed to do? Has no height? He’s 6’4” same height as Gnanduillet no pace, whilst not the quickest tell me a forward of his size that is.

Whatever style of football a team plays, at some point the situation of the game might demand us to change things up a bit, and we’d need Madine for that. Can’t always be about pacy strikers and silky football. I think in games against teams like Accrington, in which we really struggled to break teams down, a fully fit Madine could make a difference, if not with goals then with a flick on in behind or a good bit of hold up play. Not seen the best of him yet

Difference is someone wanted Hardie.......can't offload players who nobody wants

I'm a Madine fan, But I agree re his big wages being potentially utilised elsewhere......trouble is, nobody has that kind of money to spend on wages anymore......so the chances of offloading him without it being a loan and still having to pay a hefty chunk of his wages, are virtually nil

We know there is a player in there, just need our coaching team to find it and utilise him in the right formation.

I'm not bashing Madine in the slightest, he's a good player it's just I can't see what he'll offer the team with the way we believe critch will set out.

A basic 4-4-2 with Madine playing off a fast striker may work, with fast wingers whipping balls in for him to pull markers off the other men in the box however with our recruitment we have an over abundance of pacy forward players and look to play a fluid 3 up top.

I can't see how Madine would add value to this without potential taking a spot of a better performing player like Yates or Anderson. He's not a target man, nor a fast lad playing off the back of a defender. We'll play a high line and press high, we need pace and urgency to do this, I can't see Madine going the full 90 in this regard.

I see what you mean and its difficult for me to see how Madine fits into this whole thing. If we are breaking with pace is he the sort of player thats going to keep up with those very quick front three or four like Hamilton and Yates. I notice us getting the ball to Teddy Howe down the right if thats the case then he is going to need a target to hit. Maybe thats where Madine come in? I still see Madine at his most effective when the ball is into him in the 18 yard box and he is back to goal. He is strong there and thats where he brings others in.

Even if he's on 4k, with the new salary cap he's now considered to be on 'average wage' so if we got rid we could only really replace him with someone on 2.5k ish I think?

Bit of a shame that Nuttall got injured (not read any updates on how he is) because these next couple of games would have been an ideal opportunity to show us what he can do after a summer of rest, a pre-season with Critchley and hopefully a bit of pressure off his shoulders with no fans in the ground. Hoping he'll play a part today. As for Madine, I don't see him as more than a 15 mins player who night break up play and be troublesome in the box. Don't think he was a good signing tbh.
