How privileged are the people of this country to have a responsible government during this time of crisis when so many other countries are hiding the truth and putting economic survival above the deaths of their people? How lucky are we compared with countries like China, Russia, Brazil and many others which fail to disclose the truth and the extent of casualties caused by the pandemic?
The BBC reports today that deaths in Brazil are nearing 1000 per day but could be 20 times higher as no testing programme is in operation. Bodies are discreetly disposed of in unmarked mass graves and the country's far-right president, Jaiir Bolsonaro, claims the virus is a 'little flu' and a trick to topple his government. Meanwhile, in the UK obsessives take to the internet seeking to crucify the Prime Minister and government because..err...because...well because they have nothing else to do but whinge instead of counting their blessings and giving thanks that they live in a decent country like ours.
