How DO you reproduce last night’s 2nd half ?

A combination of Sprit, Hard nosed tackling and Determination. With the North in full cry, it’s easier than playing away, but THAT’S what has to be done on the road. Pool have been miserable on tour, happy to play it sideways and backwards, until they eventually make the fatal mistake. To win away, you have to upset the home supporters by tackling like Combine Harvesters. It earns you the right to play ! Can they reproduce last night’s second half ? Probably not. You see, they never do. Burton, Cambridge and Port Vale were appalling.

Players aren't robots. Different games have very different challenges and emotions. Playing a Prem team on live TV is a huge motivator and a free hit, no expectations. Playing Burton or Cambridge away is almost like the reverse. Theoretically easier but psychologically more difficult. We went 2-0 up on a Premier League ground straight after Forest beat Newcastle and United. Kind of what Northampton did to us, after we tonked Portsmouth. It's football innit?

Portsmouth?

This is a great, timely question.
I'm sure most if not all of us were delighted with the effort last night but can/will iy be replicated at Bristol?
I get that last night was a bit of a free hit and that the league lasts 46 odd games but we really need to show the same passion, fight and determination in the league if we are going to achieve anything this season.
Saturday is a big test for Critch and the team.

Plan B when Plan A isn't working.
Port Vale, Burton and Cambridge played like the away side when they where at home putting men behind the ball.
Exeter tried the same so appreciated the balls over the top for something different last Saturday.

It's not as simple as just play like that. Teams we play in LG 1 aren't as good as forest and a lot of them don't want to play against us, just sit back and not attack. You can't play against them sides the same way cos there's no space.
