Agree on the stats. When Brunskill joined we went on our worst run of the season. He also took both to QPR and failed. Not keen on that… Brunskill seemed to just stand about. Stats with the 3 of them aren’t particularly good.
Back to 20 sideways passes to gain 5 yards of progress.Underwhelming but good luck to the new (old) team.
Critchley returned. We ditched them once after Critchley left us as they were not deemed worthy of keeping, what has changed?
New managers usually want their own choices. We ditched them once after Critchley left us as they were not deemed worthy of keeping, what has changed?
We ditched them once after Critchley left us as they were not deemed worthy of keeping, what has changed?
But finish mid table in the Championship...Back to 20 sideways passes to gain 5 yards of progress.
Thommo was kept on as assistant for many managers here and at PNEDoesn't quite work like that with Assistant's does it.
If these are the two guys that Critchley wants to work with then let him crack on. Hopefully we reap the rewards!
Far better out thereNew managers usually want their own choices.
Towards the end, Thommo was completely sidelined though.Thommo was kept on as assistant for many managers here and at PNE
Harford at Luton has been there forever
If they are good enough you keep them.
These 2 are personal friends who will not question Critchley, and think cone handling is probably their level
If Critchley needs a comfort blanket then he is probably in the wrong line of work.Probably the comfort factor with Critchley. He'll want people round him who he knows and trusts to act on his instructions.
That's probably more relevant than getting someone unknown in with good coaching qualifications but unfamiliar with Critchley's methods.
If the intention is to achieve consistency throughout the whole club, then this appointment makes sense.
And that is why I did not want Appleton backTowards the end, Thommo was completely sidelined though.
Think Pep's staying at City.Far better out there
We don’t have a new plan so have gone back to an old one with our fingers and toes crossedWe ditched them once after Critchley left us as they were not deemed worthy of keeping, what has changed?
Cheap and available? We've heard the negative reasons on this thread, now how about some positive?
They know each other well, there should be no 'bedding in' time.
That was never the case, each manager has his own personal choice. We ditched them once after Critchley left us as they were not deemed worthy of keeping, what has changed?
That would be the old plan where we finished mid table in the Championship...We
We don’t have a new plan so have gone back to an old one with our fingers and toes crossed
So another 3 out before end of the seasonThat was never the case, each manager has his own personal choice.
Not quite, it was Calderwood and McCall in the backroom then wasn’t it?That would be the old plan where we finished mid table in the Championship...
Critch wants and trusts them.We ditched them once after Critchley left us as they were not deemed worthy of keeping, what has changed?
Not sure of all the dates to be honest . Just get a bit fed up of all the Critchley bashing when we had 2 successful years under him.Not quite, it was Calderwood and McCall in the backroom then wasn’t it?
I want what is best for the club.Critch wants and trusts them.
A plan which worked.We
We don’t have a new plan so have gone back to an old one with our fingers and toes crossed
We all [well most ] of us want what's best for the club. It's Critch's choice so be it on his head if it works or not. Some of us might have wanted Dobbie but Critch is in post and it looks like SS has set the re-set button to get back on trackI want what is best for the club.
If Critchley leaves would you expect either of these appointments to step up in the head coach role.
I want someone who is a strong enough personality who would question and advise the head coach, not faceless yes men.
Let's be clear the wheels were coming off the Critchley bandwagon well before he left, reappointing all 3 footballing managers/coaches does not fill me with confidence.
We had a few good seasons under Grayson and went back to him too. We’ve doubled down on the Time Machine, so if it all goes tits up the responsibility will lie with Sadler not Critchley in my opinionNot sure of all the dates to be honest . Just get a bit fed up of all the Critchley bashing when we had 2 successful years under him.
And get promoted. If they’re the guys Critch wants it’s good news. But finish mid table in the Championship...
.
In other words they sound like yes men. And that’s supposed to be exciting? As if people are moaning about who the assistants are.
None of us know anything about these individuals so where the negativity comes from I don’t know.
They are known and trusted by Critchley to carry out his instructions. It’s not like they will be implementing their own plans on the training ground.
That’s actually complete bullshit, but ‘perception’ always trumps facts on AVFTTAgree on the stats. When Brunskill joined we went on our worst run of the season. He also took both to QPR and failed.
Whenever Critchley went on his best runs with us, he had experience in either Calderwood or McCall on his backroom staff.
... in a nutshell. If Critchley needs a comfort blanket then he is probably in the wrong line of work.
He does not need yes men but ultimately goes for them, rather than people strong enough to question him.
Dobbie is best distancing himself from this set up.
Well they work under Neil Critchley so yes I would have thought they will implement what the manager wants them to.In other words they sound like yes men. And that’s supposed to be exciting?
What's bullshit? Before Calderwood we had something like 7 points from 8 games. Promotion followed. That’s actually complete bullshit, but ‘perception’ always trumps facts on AVFTT
Let's just wait and see before apportioning blame shall we. You never know you might be apportioning praise .We had a few good seasons under Grayson and went back to him too. We’ve doubled down on the Time Machine, so if it all goes tits up the responsibility will lie with Sadler not Critchley in my opinion
Once he’s won the champions league, he’ll want a new challenge. Lots of incentives for him, fresh air, fish & chips, funny girls, fairground rides, ffs, it’s a no brainer PepThink Pep's staying at City.
