Fleetwood home game

Wonder if this will stay on. Fleetwood not played on any international break yet this season - but surely even Charlie would want this to remain 3pm Sat given his clubs momentum at the mo, and for the fans?

Hope it remains 23 March, as I can’t be bothered with another Tuesday night fixture against this lot.

Surely there should have been a cut off as it's fast approaching and we've been selling tickets for ages.

They must have known ages ago what they wanted to do so should stay as it is now regardless. You shouldn't be allowed to leave it until 2 weeks away then move it.

I hope it isn't because I'm going watch England play Brazil. That said, it would force the fixture to a Tuesday night and we rarely win midweek. If their form continues, it'll be a tougher match than I was expecting.

How does that work out?
The club and the manager doesn't know who gets called up until the squads are announced.

The U21's have qualifying first teams friendlies so more than likely be off.

You have to wait until the squads are announced.

Joke if that happens
The farce with allowing kids to be classed as the 3 Internationals to call a game off.
Port Vale have three on loan from the PL so also will probably be off.

Two choices for me close the league down or fuck off the kids and only full internationals allowed.

Four games got payed in October Joke.

Fair point, however its always fans that are shit on.

It mad to be selling tickets for an event that likely isn't happening.

Couldn’t squads be decided sooner and any last minute changes do to injury or whatever would be minimal.

Idk, it's just always fans who lose.

What happens if one of your 3 gets injured Saturday so doesn't get called up?
You've cancelled a game which should go ahead.

My ST mate who travels was going to come up for the weekend with his partner hotels, trains etc to be booked.
Luckily I stopped him last month or he'd have shelled out.

This farce has to stop so as above shut the league down International weekends or don't allow games to be called off for kids.
Two games played in November FFS.

Totally agree.
Saturday 3pm is why we buy season tickets for a great day out

That would likely be in a minority of cases, at least though there has been clarity from the start of tickets going on sale, so people can plan etc.

Your scenario can still happen anyway when the squads are announced then one gets injured.

When are they announced?

Idk the ideal solution, are those kids even playing for Fleetwood regularly or at all?

I think you should ban L1/L2 games being called off for international break. I have got my ticket and hope it's not called off however got a bad feeling it will be.

Think it ultimately comes down to Charlie though - we seem to have played all games in international break. And I hope Charlie sees sense that 3pm away at Blackpool on a Sat when his team are doing well is much better than kicking it to a Tuesday night.

The Seasiders' home league fixture against Fleetwood Town has been rearranged to Tuesday 9 April with a 7:45pm kick-off.

Tickets for the original match, which was due to take place on Saturday 23 March, will be valid for the new date.

The new date suits them more than us as they were due to play Peterborough on the Saturday before which is postponed because of the BSM final so they have a free weekend 🤬

Fantastic news, now I get to enjoy England v Brazil and don't miss the El Crapico. There's even more chance we will get to relegate them also. 😁

That I'm afraid is utter bollocks.
Fleetwood haven't played a single game on International weekends this season.

The rules need to change.
At the end of the day if they wanted to play the game they could, they are just being awkward and I am sure they are finding it quite amusing that it is impacting on our fixtures.

Would you want the game played if Dembelle got called up?
Lawal scored 2 for the Cod's Saturday so would be a big loss for them if the game went ahead.
No difference.

The rules are an arse and need changing.👍

"Now BES is under an Ofgem investigation.

And Pilley still owns the football club. The EFL handbook says people are disqualified from being the director of a club if they are sentenced to longer than 12 months in prison, so Pilley is no longer a formal director of Fleetwood Town; he resigned upon his conviction last year and his two children, Jamie, 27, and Melissa, 19, have taken his place.

A statement on the Fleetwood website, though, says that a company called Jaymel Limited owns 97 per cent of the club.

The UK’s online company register details that there is only one “person with significant control” of Jaymel Limited: Andy Pilley, who has 75 per cent or more of the shares and voting rights and the “right to appoint and remove directors”.

The EFL Owners’ and Directors’ Test says the definition of a director includes “a person having control over a club”.

When an owner is convicted, the owner will need to divest their shares within 28 days of receiving “written receipt” from the league — but nine months on from Pilley’s conviction, although he has resigned as a formal director, he is still the owner of the club. The EFL and Fleetwood say this is an ongoing process.

The issue with Fleetwood Town is not what the money is being spent on or how the club is being run, it is where the money came from in the first place: companies owned by a man who has now been jailed for serious crimes.

However, the future looks uncertain regarding Pilley and his companies, with legal action bubbling against BES.

Phoenix Solicitors, a law firm based in Merseyside, says clients of BES Utilities “may be owed tens of thousands of pounds” in compensation and is encouraging people to get in touch.

And if any Ofgem fine or any other fallout from the frauds was big enough to threaten BES’ future, the club might lose its main sponsor."
