Curry's, Argos and Amazon all have offers on, started today:
Amazon Firestick Lite - £19.99
Amazon Firetick 2020 - £24.99
Amazon Firestick 4k - £29.99
Fire TV Cube - £69.99

Absolute bargains, especially the bottom 3 on my list, you get a lot of tech for your cash. Ifollow can be accessed on it via downloading Silk Browser so you can have our games full screen on a TV, no more watching on a laptop, tablet or phone 😀

Obviously people should buy our games through the club, but if you want sports channels, PPV, films, series etc I know where you can get a good service at a very reasonable price 😉

Highfield....As you seem to know what you're talking about:

Can I-follow be 'casted' to Google cast?

Thanks

You should be able to get ifollow on a phone/tablet and mirror whats on screen to the chromecast, not sure if you can get silk browser on the chromecast. Its much easier on a Firestick though.

Is there much difference between those three different Highfield? Been thinking of getting one for a while.
Obviously depends on budget, the Lite for 20 quid is good value, you can't control the TV volume or turn it on and off with this model. The 2020 model and 4k give you more bang for your buck. Spec wise they aren't much different, other than the obvious if you have a 4k TV.

I've got a fire TV cube and its superb, especially for £70, but the sticks are great value for money.

I've got a really old fire stick, one of the early ones, and it's dog slow - I had hacked it and sideloaded stuff onto it too, but even at factory defaults it is unuseable. Are the new ones much better?

Miles better yes, problem with gen 1 firesticks is they don't support a VPN which is required at the minute for certain apps.

Cheers. I'll get one ordered. Bought a Fire HD10 the other week on silly prices, prefectly goot 10" tab for 80 quid, especially when unlocked, but I'm not really using it, so it can go back. That's the joy of amazon, I guess.

We've somehow ended up with 3 Firesticks lobbed on various TVs around the house, use them all the time and at that price silly not to.

A bit beyond my tech capabilities this. I did try to install a fire stick in my b & o tv a couple of years ago without success

If you can work a sky/virgin box you can work a firestick

Highfield a question, IFollow works really well through my phone, if I got a iPhone to HDMI cable and hooked the two up is that a way I could put it on my TV?

Sorry if it’s obvious one way or the other, I muddle through with tech

Yes you can do, but you're probably looking at 10-15 quid for a decent one so you might as well get a firestick.

Then you get all the added benefits of the firestick as well, it's literally a case of plugging it in, initial set up takes about 10 minutes and you're away. I should be on commission from Amazon here 😂

I wouldnt recommend tried this for a family member a while back with 2 different cables & non worked. Got him a chromecast in the end as it suited his needs more than a firestick.
edit: That was for Android though maybe iphones are better?

For most though i would say that the firestick is better. Chromecast are better for casting google stuff like youtube.
You can cast a google chrome tab from a web browser to a chromecast but without getting too technical certain video plugins like silverlight dont work so no good for sky go.
I have a 4k firestick even though i dont have a 4k tv as its a bit quicker than the 2nd gen but the 2020 wasnt out when i bought so not sure now?
For the extra £5 i would probably still get the 4k one

EdIt Comparison of all 3 here even the lite & 2020 have been upgraded to a better processor so should be ok if you dont need 4k

Ta Highfield.

I only ask as I’m not sure what I’d actually do with a Firestick. Would I install IFollow on to that and go from there? Again apologies for my complete lack of knowledge

You need to install silk browser, its just an Internet browser like Google chrome/Firefox etc. You then simply go on the clubs site and log into your ifollow as normal, works exactly how it does on your phone.

HS, any chance you can let me know about that service? Cheers

Are you providing the iptv service? I work away in Saudi and have my fire stick with insomnia build on. However massive pain with buffering and stream searching. Can you help. You can email me privately at darrenlnelson@hotmail.com if you prefer.

Top man! I’ll have a look at that now.

Right. I'll get this done. I have a regular firestick (not sure which gen but from 2018) and 4k stick bought in 2019. I tried downloading (via an apk) the BFC app last year for ifollow and it wouldn't work. Using Silk browser is a great idea. I now also have a Xiaomi Mi s 4k box for the 65"er which in my opinion is as good as the firestick.

Silk browser playing up for me, after working all season. There's the Firefox browser in search as well.

Would any of this modern gadgetry work with a big screen LG manufactured in 2009. With an HDMI/IN and HDMI/DVI/IN connex on the back of TV. Asking for a friend 😉

All they need is a plug socket, a HDMI port in your TV and broadband. They're brilliant bits of kit, can access massive amounts of content and with the correct apps more TV channels, films and series than you can imagine 👍

Thanks HS.

What are the massive amounts of content you referred to?
Do you get free passage to Netflix and Prime and can you access any of the Sky channels? Or are there subscriptions required to access all areas?
