Favourite player

Keith Southern probably gets my vote. We have had more exciting and wonderful footballers since I’ve been watching us, Ellis a big favourite and Ormerod, Charlie A, Hoolahan of course, but never seen a player work so tirelessly hard for Pool for so long and never let us down.

Suddick/Adam/Armfield of all time but special mention to Crainey a brilliant and under rated full back. Also wish we could have nicked 'our' Seamus for another season.

Limiting it to 5 has to be for me in no particular order

David Eyres
Tom Ince
Charlie Adam
Tony Ellis
Dave Bamber

There are many more including josh but he’s only been with us a year

1st game 1972 so missed the Scottish Pele Tony Green. Colin Morris my fave from the early days

1970’s
Micky Walsh ( working alongside Bob Hatton)

1980’s
Eamon O’Keefe

1990’s
Dave Bamber

2000’s
Charlie Adam

2010’s
Tom Ince (you can respond now….. I’m now wearing my hard hat and stab proof vest)

2020’s
Josh Bowler ( tight race with Jerry Yates)

Huddersfield used the same chant around 1969.
I remember it well, last game of the season, went with my Dad first away game.
Won the game and missed out on promotion on goal average to QPR.
And you got the goal AVERAGE bit right. I wasn't allowed to go but my dad went with my Grandad in the local grocer's car. The family were all waiting for their return expecting us to go up.

Probably John Hills - first player I made a connection with. Current probably Jerry.

Stan Mortensen.
Not only a great goal corer but a nice guy whose heart was in Blackpool the town.
Even though being born in South Shields.
